JBL 10 spk system HU wiring pinouts.

Just in case you were wondering how the JBL 10 SPK system is wired up... here are the pinouts from the HU connections. There are three connectors. The unit sends pre-outs to the AMP as well as a communications channel to the AMP. All speakers connect to the AMP and the AMP controls surround, fader, balance, etc. I believe the HU still takes care of the volume. I have the AMP pinouts as well if you want them. (As well as the Camry and Solara radio pinouts.)

Thank-you so much for this info. I have a BlitzSafe Aux In connector on the way to me. Still trying to decide whether to do the install myself or to take it somewhere. Any thoughts? Any photos of the back side of the JBL radio?

If the amp controls the fader and such....wouldn't you want to tap the leads after the amp and use a line-level converter if you are adding amp/subs to the OEM headunit?

Hey....any more info on the Blitzsafe product? I assume this is an aux-in adapter for an ipod or XM. How is it hooked up?

what is tx? which is front, and which is rear?

do you have the diagram? that would be a lot easier to read than the schematics. something like the camry/solara ones you posted.

TX is a communications channel, jsut think of it as data. I do have the diagrams for the 10spkr JBL, I will post it as soon as i get a chance.

It is pretty easy to figure out the colors. BR=Brown, etc. I don;t have a color copy.. so i can't really help out. Sorry about that. B-R means black with red stripe, etc.

so it looks like the amp only powers the sub and the far back speakers. is this correct? from what i gather, all the other speakers are powered by the deck. or is there an amplifier somewhere that i am missing for the door speakers. thank you so much.

No, look again. The AMP is shown on two different pages. The AMP powers all 10 speakers.

so the deck only outputs shielded left and right to the amp? and the amp does the processing? in the diagram it looks like and readio and player is continous with stereo component amplifier, and that all the shielded wire go back into it.
