JBL aftermarket subwoofer

I'm going to replace the OEM subwoofer in my JBL equipped 04. I've seen some pictures here of guys who've done this. Can you guys tell me which sub/amp you used that you managed to cram in the OEM location? I don't need to blow the windows out of the truck, I just want a little bit more.

I replaced mine with a 8" JL shallow mount (I think it was the W2, but could be mistaken). It's pretty much a direct bolt in, minus a small amount of trimming that has to be done inside the sub box. I think Kicker makes a shallow mount 8" also.

I mounted my amp under my passenger seat so I can't be of much help with the amp in the factory location, but the OEM JBL dsp/amp is quite large so I don't think you'll have trouble finding an amp that will fit in there.

Link in my sig. I preferred to keep the OEM amp to power all other speakers, add the aftermarket amp under the passenger side seat to power the sub.

I have a JL Audio W1v2 (8", 4ohm subwoofer) And for the amp I put in a Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300X1 300w. The best is this amp was small enough to fit in the rear quarter panel with the subwoofer and the existing oem amp! It sounds awesome and has incredible bass now.
