JBL Love

Am I the only one that likes the JBL Synthesis stock system? I have the JBL's in my 2005 Sport Ed Runner, and I think it sounds fantastic.

When I read threads on this board, I get the impression many folks either don't like the JBL's, or switch out for something else.

Am I the only one that loves the JBL system from Toyota?

I though it was quite awful. I replaced it with a proper setup.

3000 RMS watts - Alpine, JL, Kenwood, and KnuKoceptz wiring throughout.

I just picked up my 06 Sport last weekend, and I love the JBL. I think it sounds quite nice. In comparison with my previous M3's "Harman Sound" and 350z's "Bose", I would say the JBL has been my favorite.

I like it.

I just put a 10" in my Tacoma so now when I jump in the T4R it's missing some of the bass my Taco has now, but overall JBL works fine for me.

I like it as well. I was used to a 96' Tacoma w/ stock speakers, so it's quite an upgrade for me! My wife's Honda Accord EX-L doesn't sound half as good as the 4runner either! I can't complain.

The JBL in my old '03 and current '04 Limiteds sound like s**t. Sounds better with surround turned off most of the time. (and yes I've tried adjusting all the levels). The rears are the worst, staticky etc. The JBL sound is one of my few disappointments of my T4R. My Accord EX-L stock system sounds 10X better.

I must say I was quite impressed by the JBL system. A friend who has a full custom audio system in his G35 was also impressed how clear it was for a stock system. That being said I do intend to upgrade the head unit and put a dedicated amp for a new sub in the stock enclosure.

The JBL in my 2007 sounds pretty good for a factory system. It could use a better sub, but overall not bad.

I have no complaints with the JBL synthesis in my limited, then when i installed the Eclipse navi unit it sounded even better. Love it, would consider upgrading when i blow speakers but by then I might just upgrade to the new T4R... or drive this one into the ground... i must not continue to encourage my bad spending habbits!! lol

+1, and I took care of the sub part, so now it's great! I don't have much worth comparing to, just the base systems in various other vehicles, but I love it, especially after swapping out the sub.

Yeah it's pretty decent for a stock system, better than the stock systems in all my previous cars for sure. This is with that re****ed "surround mode" turned off -- with surround mode turned on, it seems like 80% of the music comes through the crappy front-center speaker... horrible!

I like the JBL especially for a stock system, and with ARK JL sub suggestion it improved 100% even more.

I have had all kinds of systems is cars, spent tons of money. And those vehicles sounded amazing. However bang for buck, the JBL with 8" JL sub is the best cost for what ya get.

I am very impressed with the JBL system as well, one of the best stock systems I have heard. The subwoofer makes a big difference. I only wish there was an ipod input jack.

I like it as a factory system not bad compared to the 2009 silverado I had....
I will be adding a Kicker single sub 10" with matching kicker amp......
I wish I never sold my old Hifonics VII Vulcan/Thor/Gemini amps last month....

My stock system was disappointing for a "high end factory system." I wanted to change the entire system, but speakers cost too much. My Alpine head unit with ipod interface in the glove box, along with a decent amp and sub, makes a world of difference. I have always thought about upgrading the speakers, but I have put my spending money into other mods.

Kenwood NAV HU, JL Components front and back, Alpine PDX 4.150 for the components and an Audioque 2200D for two 12" Type-R's in a 6ft^3 ported box.

Cost about $4000.

wow thats gotta sound amazing. i would like to get some JL's for my next truck

Everyone who has ever sat in my truck as commented on it. I have a high-end home audio system and my truck sounds way better.

Just because I have 2200 watts in the trunk doesn't mean I utilize it all the time. Only when I'm in the mood - I have a remote gain knob by the 12V plug.

I liked my JBL as a factory system, but I blew every tweeter (5) in the truck. Replaced all the stock speakers with aftermarket, and there's no comparison
