My radio has suddenly lost its memory. All the presets are lost when I turn the ignition off.

Today I went out and the radio would not even turn on. Turned the ign off and then back on and it started to work again although it has again lost all presets.

Are these omens of impending failure? I removed all the cds just in case.

Thanks I will check it. It is only about a month old however.
Radio worked after the battery change. It just two days ago started with the forgetting.

2005 Sport 4X4

When checking your battery, pull and reseat your ground to the mounting point. Sometimes they will corrode and cause a bad connection.

Also, when the amp starts going bad it could be the cause. If resistors are going out or diodes allowing power or signal out where it shouldn't be.

May be time for a bypass and an aftermarket installed. Good luck!

I have pretty much the same truck as you and I had similar circumstances. I didn't lose the pre-sets but other features started failing intermittently until it finally totally failed. I hope yours is something less serious.
