JBL rear seat wireless headphone/s ?

Just picked up my new 4R a few days ago.
Looks like the dealer did not include the headphone. Where were yours stashed ?
Maybe I've missed a cubby hole somewhere...:confused:

Mine were not included either, I had to ask for them. They grabbed them from the back, but they did not give me the remote control either. They had to order that.

You can check the glove box, behind the rear seats, in the cup holders in the door, or maybe the little storage things in the trunk. I don't know if you have the JBL sound system, if you don't there is a cubby hole on the right side in the trunk that flips downward.

Absurdly enough, the headphones are optional equipment. Some dealers throw it in and some don't. When I found out I did not have them I called the dealer and pointed out how ridiculous it is that I paid for a fancy rear seat audio system but can't use it unless I buy the headphones, and he ordered them for me for free.

Headphones were optional, I believe. I didn't purchase them from the dealer since I wasn't really interested in the rear-seat-audio feature anyway.

Just for kicks, I took my Radio Shack wireless infrared headphones that I use on my computer and tried them with the RSA. Music from the RSA came through, no problem.

The headphones were $20 including the base transmitter, headphones, and rechargeable batteries.
 
Call the dealer and demand that he throw them in the deal if he wants any more of your business in the future. If you paid that much for a vehicle and they don't throw something like the headphones in they shouldn't be getting your business!
 
I didn't get any with mine either, I always thought that was dumb, but I was wondering is there any other place you can get them? That might be cheaper then the dealer?

They show up on eBay once in a while, that's how I got mine back in '03. Was almost $40 for the pair. The sad part is I don't need them or use them. They have been in the house for almost 2 years.
 
Ya, I wouldn't use them much at all either, just be nice to have incase someone was sitting back there.

I was hoping that maybe another manufacture made some that would work with out systems.
 
Oh, it looks like these things are all standard - 2.3/2.8mhz infrared.

I just ordered some off e-bay to impress my teenagers.

These headphones are too cheap to squabble with the dealer over especially since they really do not come with the $750 factory JBL 10 spkr option. In any case, the last minute 4Runner substitution in my deal resulted in getting the Toyo Guard (junk?) and the JBL upgrade tossed in at no cost adjustment.

how much were they on ebay?
 
The rear seat headsets have got to be one of the all time rip-offs.
They install it on all JBL's and then tell you that you can have it work
by buying their $50 headset(worth about $10). The system really
doesn't work anyway, as you cannot select anything other than
what is on the front speakers(big deal).

As confirmed with many posts, the JBL's have nothing but the
cheapest speakers and sound terrible. No highs, no lows and
plenty of distortion.

They are one of the real weak points of a great vehicle.

That convinces me to go with mp3 players at rear seat so that I don
