JC's new supercharged build

I'm back! oah it was horrible being without a 4runner. A few months ago i decided the commute was killing me and to switch to a civic si. I had a little fun with it and quickly became bored. I just recently purchased a 97 limited 4runner with a TRD 2nd gen supercharger. I do not believe it has the 7th injector done on it, but the vehicle had tons of maintence bills including new belt 8000km ago on the supercharger and recent timing belt etc. i have a little extra cash hanging around so its time to decide on the mods.. here is a list of what i want and i am hoping for some help in deciding the order. I will post some pics soon for you S/C experts to tell me if it there is a 7th injector but i checked behind the kick panels and only found the 4x4 and ABS modules. Here's my list so far (the vehicle's main purpose will be a DD taking me on about 50km of highway daily.

LIFT - on my previous t4r i had the LC coils and bilstein adjustables, i liked this lift a lot but i would prefer to go a little smaller than 4". Though it looks like my only alternative is the OME which i have heard is quite rough on a DD

TIRES - i think i will go with 285/75/16 duratracs

BUMPER + WINCH - there is a local maker just south of the border (badlands bumper) who has a nice tube bumper which runs $685 i think i will go for and match it with a warn m8000

CARGO BASKET - probably just going to get a generic low profile one for around 100 bucks off amazon then throw some rectangular lights on the rear (for camping and towing my boat)

7TH INJECTOR - now most of you will put this at the top of my list and first item to purchase. I have read much about it but still feel undecided about whether or not to get it or wait a little longer after getting my offroad gear as i do take it wheeling once a month minimum.. and places it wouldn't stand a chance stock

SOUND SYSTEM - never cared for the stock system that much so i will be upgrading the speakers and adding a small subwoofer

budget wise i have about 3500-4000 at the time being to invest. What do you guys think? thanks!

of course some pics, and more to come of the supercharger

Pretty easy to tell if you've got the 7th injector. So easy that I imagine you don't, if you don't know.

I circled it in this photo from URD's website. My personal experience with URD has been less than great lately, but their products are still great. Maybe their success with the newer stuff is putting us simpletons with older vehicles on the back burners =)

And in regards to running the 6 larger injectors with a "proper" tune. I played that game - I recommend you don't.

Good looking rig! The list is definitely going to produce an even better lookng rig. Let me know if you come down this way to pick up the bumper.

well i have made some advances.. sorry for the horribly long delay. I put in the OME 3" lift.. i didn't like how the rear coils settled so i added 20mm of spacers to each side and now it is perrrfect! I sprung for some duratracs and absolutely love the look. Time to get some maintenance done now

-URD 7th injector
-steering rack guide (just did this tonight)
-new radiator (small hairline leak i patched up)
-cv boots
-more trimming - i am still rubbing on a seciton of sheet metal and frame on the inner rear side on my front wheel wells, even after trimming a cm or so

the back looks a little low but only because of the angle of camera and the ground in my underground parking haha

Looks great man! Pretty sick budget too! Wish I had that kind of budget to play with my 05 Taco! lol!

Definitely sub'd to this thread!

some new pics from today, i figured ill throw in some new LBJ's tomorrow while i do the axles.. maybe not such a bright idea detailing it before it goes into the garage :)

Rola full length roof rack and TUFF LED's on the way as well :)

ill definitely be sealing the rack good after reading the reviews here

Your 4Runner looks great! Love the stance and color combo.. How does the OME lift ride?

thanks!! OME rides nice, i opted for the soft shocks/coils but i am a little disappointed with the height. My truck sat ever so slightly sagged in the rear with no load so i added 2 10mm spacers to each coil and now its perfect. Found it a little rough for the first couple hundred miles but now its no problem.

so i replaced my DS axle today.. my plan was to do both but the damn canucks decided to play right during my "Car" time. I had intended to do my LBJ's as well but my local dealer wanted.................

$165 FOR ONE!! So i will be shipping them in :)

I also got another little present in the mail.. something to offer a little more carrying capacity.

Well i have been long planning a good summer road trip, i haven't determined where to go this summer but i have been working towards Alaska (from vancouver BC). I think ill need atleast another year of mods/maintenance to have confidence in my truck to get me there but anyone have any good ideas for western canada/US this summer... or anyone been to alaska

well not much has changed apart from one new cv shaft and another going in soon along with a vortex muffler. I found a hairline fracture in my rad when doing the tranny cooler so temporarily fixed it with some JB weld. It only leaked when you really pushed on the snout for the lower rad hook up. It is the next item to be replaced then i have rebuilt myself a new list of items to buy - however I decided to purchase a dual sport which has taken up most of my time and $$ so these purchases may not happen tomorrow, any thoughts on my order

Rad -$120
dual batteries (optima yellow top, stock alternator for now eventually upgrade to 120A GM) - $300
urd 7th injector - $900
Bumper + winch $1000
S/C nose cone $300
sliders $250
on board air $100
snorkel $500

I am planning a trip to either Alaska or mexico within the next year so i hope to have all of these on by then amongst a little more scheduled maintenance.

Do Mexico!

I traveled Latin America last year for 5 months on my motorcycle. Saving up to do it again, or continue on to S.A!

I FREAKING LOVE YOUR TRUCK!!! I have the exact same vehicle in terms of color combo. I recently removed the stock running boards and having been going back and forth on black wheels while having grey stock flares. This truck looks great though! I think I will end up with the black set up.
