Jeep bumpers on 2nd gen?

So I was at my in laws house tonight to feed the cat as they are away and I saw he stock bumpers from there 98 jeep sitting in the snow on the side of the house and I got to thinking. I am wanting to build a swing out and that is a large chunk of tubing that I could use as the bumper. I would mount it off of the tow package and weld in some reinforcement then weld the spindle in to the bumper. Am u being dumb here or dose this sound posible? I would have done a mock up but we were in our beetle as my truck needs a new cat and therefor not running well

Anything is possible, just depends how much you wanna put into building it.

Take some pics of the bumpers, then mock it up on paper first. Get measurements and see if things will fit into place or not.
