Are adults really addicted to video games this much? If so, do you really want to advertise it that much?!

I have no idea, but my question is; why would anyone buy that over a 4 runner?

I love jeeps, but would never own a new one.

I believe I saw this last year for MW2 as well. ugh. aside from special edition, that's a lot of $$$ for a wrangler (as shown).

I don't play but friends that do are really that into it. I must admit the graphics are stunning. The Wrangler, correctly outfitted, is absolutely amazing off road. Will be interesting to see next year how many of these they end of selling.

I think its silly but remain a big fan of allowing anybody to be silly

It's a sweet video game, although they have basically out out 3 versions of the same game which kinda sucks.

Sure wouldn't buy the jeep though

Yep, they did. The COD BlackOps version - of course, it was basically a blacked out 4 door Wrangler with special edition interior I believe. My son is a COD fanatic and we stopped and looked at one of these when we saw it on the lot. I don't know how the sticker price was as compared to an identical one without the special stuff on it, but it was way too much in my opinion. I've always loved Jeeps from the CJ days and finally owned a Wrangler about 10 years ago, and have owned several different models during my lifetime. Loved it and wish I had it back, but wouldn't want it as a dd again.

What really sticker shocked me, though, is when I bought my 3rd gen limited a few weeks ago. The original sticker was still with it - was over 39k in 2000. Love 4runners but don't think I could have justified that back then, over some other vehicles. Of course, that was before I had any idea they would last as long as they do.

While I agree, I also disagree. Jeep owners continue to buy Jeeps, and certainly do not normally look to a 4Runner at the same time as looking for a Wrangler. It is not even close to the same type of vehicle.

The lockers front and rear are nice....that's about all the nice I have to say about it. The real shocker is the price---$40,000 MSRP!!! So, look for them at the Jeep dealers for $50,000... :barf:

I remember when MW meant Mechwarrior.....now THAT would have been a cool jeep.....a couple of fender mounted ERPPC's with roof mounted AC10. Hell, we might have been able to fit a few ERLAS in.....


Now where to fit the heat sinks and jump jets.....hmmmmm

I think it's pretty cool. They've already made a Tomb raider, a Jurassic Park, and a Sahara Movie Edition in the past. Wranglers are basically big toys anyway, so why not. It's all in fun.

I was under the impression that half the people who played those games didn't have real jobs to buy a $40,000 jeep, guess time will tell. Looks like a decent rig but overpriced IMHO.

The Toyota dealer we go to (know owner personally) also has a jeep dealership and was actually seeing if we wanted to try a jeep. He mentioned how he ha the CoD one coming in soon. I would have taken it! But was shopping for a new car for pops

wow,that's a very ignorant view of people just based on the fact that they play video games. Actually most gamers are well into adulthood and many gamers are over 40 (started with the Atari kids in the early '80s and they just haven't stopped playing) and have jobs that pay quite well and are playing these games on PCs that cost a few grand so most gamers are a big target for big money items including the goofy stuff like themed vehicles.

It's not that bad considering GM has done Mary Kay editions. I don't think it's so bad. I'm not a Jeep fan and don't really play the game, though.

I was addicted to COD 4 for about a year. It's all about the Live play and your stats. One day I just quit cold turkey and I haven't picked up a controller since. My son still plays. I've been tempted to get a new driving game, but I don't want to be addicted again.

I've had Jeeps in the past; wranglers, CJ7, Grand Cherokee Laredos-all inferior to the 4Runner. Except maybe some rare and extreme off-road conditions.
