I bought my 4runner for $9200 with 109k

When I was in the market to buy a 3rd gen It took me a good 5 months to find the right one. I would search for new postings day to day, and after making a few trips to see them I was disappointed every time up unitil of course I found this one(which btw was 6 hours away). If this one didn't come through I most likely would have ended up with a 2004 Tacoma prerunner I test drove. Very esthetic this 3rd gen came through for me. I wanted a certain style 99-02 limited 4wd in Millennium silver, Thunder cloud, White, or Black. Would have taken a sport edition as well

First day I had her. She got cleaned and waxed!

In January 2012 she got some new shoes. 265/70r16 BFG Rugged Terrains

The first couple of years when I owned this truck I was in high school and ran Cross country and Track. Therefore I didn't have a job so I didn't do many modifications to the vehicle. Now as a College student and having a job I have a better opportunity to do some mods.

On January 28, 2014 there was a snow apacolypse in Alabama!! It took me 7 hours to get home through all the traffic, and in that meantime I took advantage of the Multi mode 4wd that came with Limiteds and pulled some people out of some sticky situations.

Summer 2014

I removed the running boards and installed smoked led tail lights from ebay . Also platsti dipped emblems but failed on the Toyota logo

When that summer came to a close and was getting ready for school to start again. I went for a trail ride at night after a long week of hard rain. Driving down a hill that was nothing butt slick mud, I couldn't stop and ran into a concrete slap...
Results:

After that happened I was debating on getting an ARB/Shrockworks bumper or find a color matched fat lip... Probably a mistake but I decided to look for the stock bumper.
It wasn't unitil April of this year when I found a guy near me that had a color matched fat-lip bumper. Drove close to 4 hours to get it down in Mobile. When I got down there I found that his 4runner was an absolute beast. The guy asked me if I just wanted to install the bumper with him and I was like HELL YEA! He was a pretty cool guy.
Makes my rig look super tiny!!

Stereo

After riding in my friends 2013 Camry with JBL synthesis it made me want to upgrade my sound system.
I bought this JVC flatscreen in the spring of 2014

Then came the 6.5" JBL 2 ways and added some dynamat to it

Then came the 4 channel amp and sub/amp after missing the lows

This is the best sounding car system I've ever heard. I've tweaked everything to my liking and can't complain. When I replaced the head unit I noticed significant difference and after reading up on speakers making an even bigger difference I wasn't satisfied with SQ until I installed the 4 channel Hifonics amp

As some of may have realized I put the running boards back on. Believe it or not this is still the family ride to get around town and go out of town. My parents were a little pissed when the running boards came off. I hate the way these look!! I found some nerf bars locally from an 02 sport that is very rare and didn't see the harm in installing those.
They weren't painted the right color yet in these pics

Projector retrofit

At first I installed a 35watt HID kit in the stock housing. I didn't read up much I it and it came to haunt me. They were so blinding and obnoxious and didn't produce good light output
Just an example of blinding people

After that horrible mistake I bit the bullet on projectors. (Nothing fancy)

Unfortunately I don't have output pictures at the movement but will shorty, and I can assure you the output is beyond satisfaction though. No need for a light bar anymore IMO

no modifications needed on those wheels?? I have the same wheels and have been hesitant to really get behind doing this mod for that reason

I've never seen the streets here that empty. No one was out, cars stuck everywhere and I'm just chugging along in my 4WD Toyota. I had to help two local morons out a couple times at the trails I was out on...

Thanks! Not very good at this whole new build thread stuff. I really wish I took better pics in the process of adding things.

It was very scary to drive on the roads that day to see all the cars stopped and wrecks still not being cleaned up. Definitely looked liked the walking dead..

Today I was able to tackle the passenger CV axle, it was in worse shape than the drivers. Replaced with NAPA. My plan was to keep the OEM axle and re boot it. On contrary I was cleaning off the old axle and BAM outer joint separated. This explains all the clunking I had when this was still on the truck. Fortunate I separated this in the nick of time.

They're awesome! They ride a whole lot better than I expected considering they're E rated. But don't let that rating stop you in getting them. Off road pretty great as well, I can't compare them to much out there but they have great bite on just about any surface. If you're looking for a snow tire I'd go elsewhere

Yeah I was actually about to buy headlights from him but thought they were too expensive at the time but when I got mine I could've got way more features and the same brand for like a hundred bucks more
. If I lived in mobile I would've definitely got them and had him help me install them instead of paying 250 to install them
