Dash Camera Power Adapter

Some much to do and not enough time! A few day before leaving for our next adventure, I wanted to get rid of the ugly hanging USB cable bringing power to my Viofo A119 dashcam.

On my way back from my last trip, I stopped at Trail Grid Pro to get their Dash Camera Power Adapter. I opted for this solution as it is supposed to be a direct fit.

Well, things sometimes don't go as expected! Even if I opted for their 7-pin option, the 2016 4runner Trail Edition don't have the 7-pin connector inside the overhead console; the two wires going to the mirror are part of a larger harness.

Since I wanted the USB power module to be in the overhead console, I decided to modify the wiring and extend the two wires to the mirror. Everything enclosed with shrink tubing, et voilà, job done, finally.

And of course, I forgot to take pictures!

New LED low beam bulbs

Another thing sitting patiently in the garage to be installed on the 4Runner was a set of LED low beam bulbs. It is a simple upgrade but the tight space does indeed make things a bit more challenging.

At the time of the purchase (back in November 2019...) I went with Morimoto H11 2stroke 2.0 LED bulb kit after looking at the very good video from Headlight Revolution YouTube channel

After swapping both bulbs I am a bit puzzled. The driver side present a great cutoff line as expected. But the passenger side provides a more blurry cutoff.

First, here is picture of the driver side with the well defined cutoff line:

Now the less well defined passenger side cutoff line.

I did remove it and make sure it was properly installed. It is like the bulb is not located exactly in the focal point. Also, I didn't look at the original halogen bulb to see if it present the same pattern. Any ideas?
