With Joneseyyy's permission, I am going to have a picture thread of the Shrockworks front bumper with winch install.

I intend this thread to be an "overview" of the installation. Let you guys know the quality of the bumper and some possible hints. This is not an instructional thread. However, if you have any questions regarding the installation, ask and I will try to answer as best as possible.

Any statements that I make are opinions.

First of all....GREAT PACKAGING! Overall, Shrockworks did a fantastic job at protecting your investment. Joneseyyy's did have a couple of scuffs and scratches, but not to the fault of Shrockworks.

So let's get a starting point with J's truck
Just your basic Trail bumper. J's already got some minor WV pinstriping applied here!

Let's get that massive front bumper off of her. It's time for a face lift, literally!


Time to get naked!


And set it all aside


I'll get to the aluminum "bumper" removal next. (that's the part already on the floor)

You've got to remove that aluminum bumper/crossmember. Fairly simple, 8 or so bolts. We had some minor figeting with one bolt, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't fix. Must be some of that mud J's collected!

Next, let's take off that little miniature crossmember looking thing off. That's the part that is just above the horns in this pic.
This is what holds the bottom of your grill.

Here, we'll attach the new one from Shrockworks. This is what will hold your grill now. It shouldn't be hard to find. It's the only part without mud on it!!!




Shrockworks did a great job with fitment here. The original grill bolts on, just like the way it should.

I hope I can help anyone out with this thread. There's a reason Shrockworks takes sooooo long. It's absolutely worth the wait! Their product is top notch. Most of the time, aftermarket products require so much manipulation that it's sometimes not worth it. But Shrockworks hit the bullseye here.

Now let's cut this plastic part that holds the top of the original bumper.

Joneseyyy's truck happened to be missing the passenger side one already. He informed me that the truck had been in a minor fender bender. Shame on you body shop!

Our shop is not that empty. It just so happens that we are expanding and J's is the first truck to be worked on the "east" side of the shop. Here's a couple more photos of what else we're doing.

YES! That's another 5th gen on the alignment rack. He's here too, but is very rarely on. Maybe he'll claim is fame!

And that's our temporary roll around lift under J's truck. No lifts have been installed there yet. Wall just came down on Monday.

Sorry for the messy looking shop. We're really way more organized than that. But, that's a snap shot of work at High Tech!

Ha Ha...yes we installed it! I've been informed that I need to be off the computer now. I will continue later. But, just for evidence and to appease any doubt....

Heads up Joneseyy if you happen to find your truck with a stock mag gray front bumper on it. It was probably some sketchy hooligans in DC...also my new shrockworks bumper that happened to come immediately is not yours. FYI.
