idk if i would say that. I have to wear a suit to work every day and i got 4 jos a bank suits for the price of 1. They have been fine for the month i've had them, but one came ripped in the crotch and they had to re-tailor it. I have a bunch of brooks dress shirts I've picked up for work all on sale and they are really just well made and awesome. If you need one suit i'd say pony up a little more cash and go for something that will look nicer (IMO) and last longer. If you need every day suits the Jos A bank stuff is fine. Their dress shirts are actually pretty good too, some of them are and look really cheap but some of themare nicer

As stated above Jos A. Bank is good, but it is definitely a cut or two lower in thread count and material (thinner) than Brooks Brothers IMHO. Think Chaps vs. Ralph Lauren (Polo). If one is on a budget, a la just graduated, buy one or two suits to get ya going. If one is wearing it everyday, look elsewhere.
Cut wise they are tailored similar to Banana Republic (tall and not broad shouldered), but has more flexibility to accommodate wider ranges of sizes. Their blazers can tend to run a little small across the back, but I am stocky (Brooks Brothers workers well for me here).

JaB always has 'sales,' like 3 or 4 for 1 sales. They practically pay you to wear their clothes. Sizing is inconsistent. 36 boxers were no bigger than 34. Liberal return and exchange policy. Good place for shorts and khakis. I hate the Traveler brand because I cannot stand the no iron treatment. Feels so weird.
The low prices are due to the fact that they own the factories overseas which manufacture their cloths.
Brooks Brothers has 2 substantial sales each year, one directly after christmas. Their shirts are manufactured in their US factory. BB quality declined for many years. New owners seem interested in a return to the service and quality of 20+ years ago.

I like simple cotton plain front khakis with more rise than is common these days. I want them to sit above my waist with enough room for my sack to be unsquashed. Plus they look better.
I bought 6-8 pairs of these long pants and same number of shorts. The cost per pant was @ $15. I 'm happy. VIP something pants.

Not a fan of J. Banks. I bought my first couple suits, shirts, ties, ect from them and Ive realized a few things. First, I agree they are really inconsistent. The quality of the material as well as the construction is poor. Ive stepped up to BB and couldn't be happier with them. Their shirts are great (fit, comfort, material) and their suits are on par as well. Definitely worth the money over JB if you ask me.
So I am under 160 lbs, 5-9". the Tailored traveler Khaki's fit fine, no one around to ask for an opinion. the Tailored Traveler Dress shirt is a nice fit. for $17.97, I am thrilled. I can't do 'fitted' or slim at my 60 yrs age. NOt sure about 32" sleeve, since standard shirts are 32/33 and measure 32 1/2". over all, happy. nice catalog to browse, and thanks everyone.
those of you with their Khakis, how is the fit? I wear a 34 x 30" and I measure the inseam at 30". I measure the outer seam at 42". I have Haggar and Calvin Klien slacks and they measure 40", and I like their fit.
Still have not pulled the trigger on a jacket yet. Glad I got my shirts at $17.97, instead of the new prices.
