i took the runner back to the dealer, and they installed a small clear bumper to close up the gap between the center bumper and the shield. funny thing is, the template that is given tells you exactly where to mount the bumpers, guess one was a bit shorter than the others. no more vibration.

haro, I picked up the bugshield at the toyota dealer in Niagra Falls, you will need to call them first, because they don't have it on hand, they get it with next day service, so give them a day. I called on a Thursday, and picked it up Saturday. I believe the guy said they close at noon, but double check. It's really easy to find, and I used the Map that most Conciers have at the hotels, its a universal one. If I remember right, easiest way was to drive up Lundy's lane toward the outlet mall and QEW, and make a right on Drummond rd. Cross some train tracks, and it will be on the left.

I was thinking of mounting the screen right into the passenger head rest, but the size is a little bigger than what is available with the conventional head rest ( non leather) so we decided to go with the external mounting kit. The dvd player itself will be mounted inside the jockey/glove compartment, and the connection box will be under the passenger seat. This will allow me to plug the PS2 into it, and allow my son to either watch movies or play games. I went with the sony because I want the IR head phones. Power to the PS2 will come from an DC/AC inverter that I will purchase soon. I am waiting for delivery of the ashtray/lighter kit I just purchased from a vendor. I need the dual outlet for 12v dc to run the radar detector and the PS2.

Interesting thing happened on the way to Ottawa for the Memorial Day Weekend. On my way, while driving 80MPH, I kept hearing a weird sound. I thought it was noise from the strong wind that was blowing accross the road. While re-adjusting myself in the drivers seat, I noticed the bug shiled vibrating. The part that was vibrating was at the center most top of the shield. I redueced my speed to 70, and noticed the vibrations slowed.
On the way back home, their was less wind, and the direction of travel was more "into" the wind.
I came to the conclusion, after checking the tightness of the shield, that the cross wind component, the high speed I was driving, and the high speed of the wind from mother nature, was increasing the amount of wind that would normally be enduced on the bug shield, creating the high vibration.
Just something to keep in the back of the mind, and to always check the tighness of the bug shield durring long drives. Especially when it's a windy day.
