Vent Shades

I just picked up some vent visor vent shades. Looks really nice, but....
The packers have come to pick up all of my stuff, because we are moving south, and before I could react, they packed away the USB cable for the digital camera.

So, you will have to wait for a couple of weeks before I can post the pics. Sorry.

We finally made it to Fort Rucker, home state to momo.75.
Actually only took 2 days to drive here from upstate New York.
We also took advantage of my leave time and visited Mickey Mouse and the gang. Much needed R&R for the family after the long deploy. Shamu and the other whales are also doing fine at Sea World, courtesy of free tickets by Anheiser Bush for service memebers and families who were deployed.

Once my household goods, ie all of my stuff, arrives I will be able to upload some more pics.

yes we are here at Fort Rucker. My classes start this week, the inprocessing part. It is a little hard to get use to the extreme weather here. This includes the humidity and the rain, not to mention the heat. but we are excited to be here again.

Thanx to all, and I am honored and feel privileged to be the 4Runner of the Month for July.
I'm sorry that I have not had a chance to find some Alabama mud, and get her REALLY dirty yet, but this may change sooon, and I will post the pics when avail.

For those who are curious, we made the 1300 mile drive from upstate New York, to lower Alabama in 2 days. The computer in the car says that I'm averaging 15.9 MPH in the city, and 23 MPH on the Highway. I don't know how everyone else is doing, and I haven't had the chance to look for posts relating to this topic.

Also, I fly the OH-58D helicopter. That was the one that was "interim" until the RAH-66 Commanche came on line. The Commanche was recently scrapped due to budget cuts, etc.

Here are some recent pics of my vent shades. The next, and last vent shade we want to purchase will be for the moon/sun roof, though I'm not sure exactly the model and size for that one.

Believe it or not, we are still unpacking. but we were able to take a much needed break at Orlando visiting Mickey and Shamu. I recomend this trip for all. It is a great way to "Disconnect" for a while.

Also, though I don't drink Budweiser, I appreciate what Anheiser Bush has done for the G.I.s and their families by allowing them to visit any theme park owned by Anheiser, for free. It is definitly a welcomed break, and I tell All "Joe's" about this program.

You'll probably want to get the Toyota wind deflector for the sunroof. That way you know it fits.

Howdy folks -

23 mpg is probably quite a bit high, I've recorded over a dozen mileage values and the corresponding computer results (yes, I'm a nerd). The computer averages out to almost 12% over the actual value, with quite a spread.... from 6% to 14%. Some of those tanks were 87 octane and some were 89, I'd like to try to quantify that difference sometime too. When my computer said I was getting 22.5 on a long easy road trip, I actually was getting about 20 mpg.

I like my Toyota wind deflector on the sunroof - very little buffeting inside (as long as I have a window cracked).

Yeah I was suprised they cancelled the Comanche, after what, almost 20 years of development? Seems like at that point you finish it, even though you're way over budget. The OH-58 is an aging bird, as are most military aircraft these days.... what are they going to replace it with in the scout role?

A/C replacement

just real quick.
Higher is still working the replacement issue. Word is that the replacement A/C has been selected already, but I'm not privy to that type of info. I also had a debate with my high school friend, who fixes Blackhawks. He thought that my air craft were the newest on the block, but I explained that these are the same Air Frames from the Vietnam era, just modified.
