It seems like a lifetime has passed that I've been waiting for next week! I'm flying to Vegas this weekend, then to Vancouver to pick up the truck and drive it home! I'm beyond pumped at this point!
I'm a bit nervous about driving a new-to-me RHD vehicle straight into the mountains, but I'll be bringing some tools (small socket set, screwdrivers, pliers, tire gauge, etc), and hoping for no snowstorms until I'm back on flat ground. Wish me luck!:biggrin2:
Hey, why don't you let me pick up the Surf at the port here, I'll drive it home, clean it up, get a feel of right-hand side driving, then I'll tell you all about it, so you won't get as skittish when you drive it...really it's not a problem for me.
Stay in Vegas fo a l'il while and have a good time!:hello:![]()
I'll keep you in mind, lol!
Good luck and congrats on the truck!
Alot will depend on the winter they're having in the mountains, from here to Kelowna, I don't have any foreseeable issues on the road, by now with alot of rain in the forecast you shouldn't encounter any road snow..
I know Calgary's been hit with snow storm but major highway's should be bare and clear...just not sure about that part..having said that, you have an all season tires to ride on, so you should be fine.
How many hours of driving are you looking at to get to Winnipeg?
Google maps says about 28 hours, but we're stopping in Kelowna the 1st night, somewhere around Golden the 2nd night, a couple nights in Calgary, and then likely spend another night in Virden, MB on the way home from there. Giving myself lots of wiggle room for "quirks" in the new vehicle, and keeping things relaxing. This is basically my winter vacation this year, so it has to be fun or the wife won't be good to spend 27 hours in a vehicle with, lol.
That's a beautiful ride Ian, Congrats Man :thumb3:
I can't believe that's a 96', its spotless. Whats the km's on it? I don't even know if i'm saying that right. Do they calculate by km's or is it by hours
I'm not really familiar with the Surfs, what other cool gadgets do they come with besides the diesel and the rear camera in the spoiler? (I have seen a thread on that before) Is it geared really low? Whats the specs on the motor (HP/Torque)?
I'd really love to see one in person. I still can't believe how clean yours is
Congrats again on your new toy
Well we got off to a rough start. Our flight last night was canceled, so we had to go back home and come back early this morning and flew to Toronto, with a connecting flight that doesn't leave till 8PM tonight, so we'll get to Vegas a full 24 hours later than we were supposed to, and had to kill the day in Toronto. We jumped on a bus and went to a crappy mall.On the plus side, my wife told me last night that she bought me some laps in a Ferrari F430 at the racetrack!!! I can't be sour in light of this, it was totally unexpected, and is honestly the coolest thing anyone has ever gotten me in my life! And it includes some laps as a passenger in a Porsche Cayenne on the track as well!
Wow...... that's sweet!
What's that "panel" on the rear spoiler?
Why didn't they offer the rear tire carrier in North America?! It looks so good and natural on a T4R!
