My local dealer in GA sent me this. It states that a moonroof is 'new' to the 2019 TRD Pro. It wasn't mentioned anywhere else (chicago auto show or toyota press release). Either way I could care less but thought I'd share.

Preproduction can mean they just took a 2018, threw some ****ing new shocks from the 19 model, and bolted on the half-rack to put on display somewhere.

Either way, I don't give a **** how you feel or what options it ends up having. I reported a link from a pretty big publication. That's it.

Indeed. I wish they would have just kept the 3 trims levels, didn’t do the ugly refresh and chances are we would be back to having mostly intelligent conversations and a little asshattery of the old days, when enthusiasts (and hot soccer moms) bought them and fanboys were romping in jeeps. :biggrin1:

No, you weren't.

But anyways, I just reported what I saw. Roman from TFL is not the sharpest tool in the shed, though, so he could be wrong. It's weird that they didn't use a moonroof in the demo truck, I agree. My guess is they built it for the car show circuit... and THEN realized they could improve profit margin even more if they did a Nightshade edition.

In all honesty, if there really is a 20" wheel Nightshade edition, I do wonder if that hints at the end of the 5th gen, and a new model or major refresh (reduced body weight, new engine?) for 2020.

Seems like a lot of car companies run out these more "special" *heh* editions when they're trying to squeeze the last juice from the orange.

My guess is for 2020 they move to the 3.5L, some 2.0T engine, figure out how to drop 200 lbs from curb weight, and either skip TRD PRO for that model year or bring it out really late in the year.

But who knows.

So, I just reached out to someone with more insight than I have and will eat some crow. Apparently the moonroof will be standard. Not sure why they don't list it that way on our internal ordering page, but I'll take it.

So I just got called last night from Mt States Toyota in Denver that my allocation for a voodoo TRDP will be there in approx 2 weeks. I currently have a ‘18 TRDP super white totally stock. I will be trading this one in for the ‘19 unless I hate the color. All of the special TRDP colors, inferno, quicksand, cement, cavalry blue, all look great to me in person every time I see one on the road. I love my super white TRDP but I wouldn’t mind a change. Voodoo looks great on the FJ IMO. 4Runner color obviously is personal preference and I like ALL of the special TRDP colors. IMO the 3K upcharge for suspension, jbl audio, sunroof, and cargo rack isn’t terrible. Question for the thread is will I regret trading super white for voodoo? ...BTW this ‘19 TRDP will have a sunroof. It’s on the build sheet.

sun roof is for other trims.
