Sounds like it has a miss.
Check to make sure you didn't cross the new spark plug wires and have a couple going to the wrong cylinders. That would account for the "put, put" sound and the loss of power. Also, make sure the wires are making good connection at the spark plug and distributor. Make sure you feel a "snap" when they plug in. If not, push the boot up the wire a little and then retry. (the boot will be hard to move but it will go).
If that doesn't work, check your spark plugs. Take each one out and look at it. If it is covered in black soot or is wet, it means that cylinder is not firing. You either have a bad wire or a bad plug. (assuming something else didn't go bad). I make that assumption since you didn't say if you touched anything else.

i did each wire and plug 1 at a time, so i know i didnt cross anything.. im gonna guess something isnt connected as tight as it could be..
it was my first time changing plugs or wires..

new thought: i found pout today that the shop i got my truck back from yesterday broke my intake tub at the throttle body, and instead of replacing it they taped it.. so theres no way for me to make sure its air tight, could that have anything to do with it?
i already tried complainging.. there denying it.. i know they busted it cuz i checked the motor thoroughly before taking it in..
but could that have anything to do with it, cuz i rechecked all the plugs and distro cap conections.. i didnt remove the plugs again though..
