Just got a new 2015 T4R

Hey guys, just made a jump to the 2015 Attitude Black TRD Pro after trading in my Ibis White 2013 Audi S5. This will be my first SUV/Truck type vehicle since my past cars have been (white 98' Honda Prelude SH, Black 2005 Infiniti G35, and White 2013 Audi S5) haha white-black-white-now black again! I've always been into coupes and fixing them up but have always enjoyed driving bigger body vehicles whenever I get the chance to. Just no particular vehicles have ever made me take the jump up until recently seeing the newer Jeep cherokees like the SRT haha, the new 4door wrangler rubicons, and ofc the new 4Runners after they updated the look to be more aggressive. So I went ahead and made the jump to the T4R side haha so far I am liking it. Will post a pics of old ride and new ride.

But first question:

1) the TRD Pro didn't come with running boards, so I was wanting to get some. Which ones do you guys recommend? I've seen 'rock sliders' and such all over the forums but since I am a Truck/SUV noobie, I didn't know the difference

2) In TX, What do you guys think would be a good tint combo for the black on black on black on black on black beast I have now haha

Weathertech floor liners....

But there are tons of threads on this. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the search function or google will easily direct you right back here.... Just type in "5th Gen 4Runner floor mats" or any other item you are seeking.

Welcome. Nice truck! If you plan to take it off road... ever, just go with sliders. Better protection and better clearance. Also, as for mats, anything but the factory toyota all weather mats. They have terrible coverage imo. I went with Husky Weatherbeaters.

Why you even talking? I am just sharing what I got and wanted to get some input from people without being flamed. Sure I know very little but that's why I joined this forum to learn more about it.

I ordered the husky floor liners. No complaints about them.

There is a group buy going on for shrockworks where I just ordered some sliders. Check and see if it's still open to placing an order. Good luck with searching around and seeing what you want for aftermarket parts.

Thanks bud! You guys have any recommendations for running boards other than the n-fab? All the ones I see say sr5/trail..
 
Nice ride. Get you some weathertechs for the first and second row at a minimum.

Also, get you some Metaltech sliders instead of running boards. I've got these and my wife (she's 5'3") uses them without any issues.

sliders specified for sr5 should fit your trd pro. There is no difference at the rocker.
The ones noted for trail may have additional gussets to clear the KDSS lines (my OPORs do)
Limiteds have a different moulding at the rocker panel.

Sliders will attach to your frame, and can take the full weight of your truck. This is very useful offroad. Running boards will attach to the underside of the rocker panel, and could ostensibly multiply damage if they happen to take a good hit offroad.

Nerf bars are similar to running boards.

I highly recommend sliders. Keep an eye on the group buys in the classifieds forum if you're interested. I picked up some outpost offroad sliders from metaltech for 20% off. It was under $400 with the group buy.

And I'll +1 the weathertech recommendations. I've very happy with mine.

Thanks for the info! I've heard great things about weathertech as well, any thoughts on the Husky? as I've seen those recommended as well. And I did find the Shrockworks group buy above and put myself down for the sliders. :)

nobody is ripping on him. You know why? Because he didn't start with "look at my TRD pro"
It's not the truck, it's the people that bring on the onslaught. Here's a new user that recognizes that he has a 4runner, and not some super special vehicle, and that it takes 4runner parts, not TRD pro parts.

My buddy has huskys. They seem very nice. I think you really couldn't go wrong with either. I admit these are the first floor liners I've ever owned as opposed to floor mats. They're pretty slick.

Great decision with the shrockworks! But I'm afraid you've got the fever now. :D
