Just got an OME lift kit, need help deciding on which tires to get?

I just got my OME kit last night in the mail I will probably be having it installed in the next 2 weeks or so. I have been doing tons of research on this site as well as toyota1020 on which tires I shoud get. I have decided to stay with 265/70/17 because I think it's more practical for me and I can fit it into the spare location. My current driving driving conditions are mostly on road but I do go off road every now and then but nothing to serious. I do want a tire that is more aggressive then the Revo's so. The tires I really like are:

1) BFG All Terrain
2) Goodyear Wrangler M/T
3) Cooper Discoverer S/T-C
4) Cooper Discovere STT

If you guys could give me your input on what you think I would appreciate it. Thanks

I cant answer for the other ones , but I've owner alot of BFG AT's and have always liked them , they look awesome , great traction , tough a$$ tire IMO.

There are a lot of good tires out there so you'll have many to choose from.

The BFG's will be loud(er). Not the best for long distance on-road driving. Can't beat them for off-road though.

I do drive a lot on the regular roads, would Nitto Terra's be a better bet? thanks for the replies

the BFG ATO KO's are you best tire for a hard surface. i see that you live in New Mexico and I'm assuming this is probably your terrain. (hard surface)

this is the best all around tire EXCEPT for mud. i have had mine for about 15k miles and am very happy with them except for the mud performance. they are NOT that loud on the interstate. they have a slight hum, that is all.

Ive had the Firestone muds for about 10k miles and have yet to have a problem with them let alone get stuck with them. They have a slight yet soothing humm at highway cruise unless you have the music at a decent volume. Firestone gives you a 40k miles guarantee on them, they clean very well and the ride is great with them on and offroad. I have these on my DD and i put anywhere from 20 to 100 miles on them a day and they give me no problems except for a slight rub at full lock but that is without my lift installed. And I have yet to notice little if any treadwear at 10k on them with mainly hard surface driving. Option 2 i would go with the Goodyear muds and then third the BFG. Good Luck with your decision and take my word for it they are troopers!

I personally love my Nittos on-road performance since my truck is a daily driver and I see trails about 10-15 times a year and I've driven on a few sets of BFGs and they can't compare to the wet performance of the Nittos and the Nittos will cost you about $200 less a set. Off road the Nittos are quite comparable to the BFGs and they hold up well to rock rash.
I've got a little over 15k on my Nittos and they have quited down a bit since new and are wearing well. They also have solid turn in grip on ice and snow which in my experiences rivals the BFGs.

I'm thinking of going with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor A/T. I have heared many good things about them and Discount tire recommends them. I drive on the roads about 90% of the time and when I do go off road it's mainly just sand nothing to crazy. I'm thinking of going with 275/70/17. I will be getting my lift put on this Saturday so maybe head down to Discount on Monday.

I have a good friend who sels tires and he says the Firestone muds are one of the best right now esp if you are going to drive some hi-way as well. This is what I would get if I wanted a great off road tire. Second I think I would like to try some Cooper STT's

I have the Yokohama ATR's and love them. Quiet, great traction, smooth ride, great in sand and rock, they don't clean themselves well in deep mud though. I had BFG's and Toyo's before, and for the money I am very happy, 112.00 each at discount. I've put around 4K on them and no complaints or uneven wear.

Just write the top 4 tires on a slip of paper and place them in a hat and pick one!

The trick is after you pick the tire call up and order them so you don't change your mind.

Do you have any pictures of the Yokohamas on the 4Runner?

If you not off-roading go with Nitto Terra Grapplers. If you do off-road, then your choice is GoodYear Wrangler MT/Rs or BFGoodrich MT. That is my personal opinion.
