Just Installed---Borla Dual Exhaust

I just got the Borla Dual Exhaust System installed in my '03 V6 4runner. It is off the hook.

I noticed a increase in HP.:runaway:
The sound is awesome! (maybe I will make a soundclip)

Someone told me that it takes the computer about 500-1000 miles for the new system to really kick in.
Is this true?

Could you also notice if any sulfur or exhaust smells still enter the cabin if the rear window is down?

I said it takes about 500-1000 miles for the ECU to adjust to the new back pressure, or lack of it. Or, as somebody else noted, you can disconnect your battery for 15 minutes and that should reset the ECU. This was passed to me by my Toyota service manager. Borla claims a 10hp gain and 20+ ft. lbs. of torque gained. Can't compare as I bought mine with the Borla from Toyota.

You should be able to reset the ecu manually somehow. I know on my altima there is a screw on the side of the ecu that you have to turn clockwise and counter clockwise to reset it. I'm not sure about the 4 runner though. If it's there it'll make things a lot easier and is a much better way to be sure that your computer is reset. Also, not to be a know it all, but back pressure is a widely misused term. What the cat back does is create a different exhaust resonance that allows the gasses to move away from the engine in a more efficient way.

never got an update on this. how's it sound compared to the borla on the v8? louder or quieter? how about compared to stock? and like webshot asks, does it drone on the freeway? i'm sure the borla claim was for the v8 4runners but i could be wrong. need update please, thanks.

I havent heard a V8 with borla so I dont know.
ALOT better than Stock!!!!
