I just joined the 4Runner community after getting feedback from a lot of folks to my questions. Thanks again!

I just bought a 2005 SportEdition V6 with 184K kilometers (114K miles). Color is gunmetal (?) for $12K. I specifically wanted a 2005 V6 after I learned that it has a 5 speed auto as opposed to a 4 speed auto on the 03 and 04 models.

It has the JBL stereo (at least that's the label on the speakers). A one owner car, but it has a lot of rock chips on the hood.

1. I want to get good all-season mats. Is it best to go with the OEM rubber mats or get the pricey (but seem very good) WeatherTech custom digital fit ones?

2. For the factory tint in all the windows other than the front windows, what % shade should I tint the fronts to match the rears? The legal limit here in Canada is 35%. Would that match?

3. I want to replace all the incandescent bulbs in the interior of the vehicle as well as the licence plate light. How many of each do I need to get?

License plate
168

Glove box
37

Map light
168

Dome light
DE3175

Step/Courtesy light
194

Trunk/Cargo area
DE3175

TIA for all your help.

Here are some pics of the truck.

Welcome!
I have had Weathertech regulars and WeatherTech digital fits. I wish I would've just forked over the extra cash to get the digitals to begin with! They are awesome and I wouldn't get anything else.
As far as the LED swap. As mentioned above, that guy has a kit you can buy. I just bought all mine separately online through VLEDS.

Maplight is 2
Domelight middle is 1 (for me) and rear was 1 (for me)
license plate - 2bulbs
running boards if you have em - 2 for each board for a total of 4 bulbs
glovebox light - 1 bulb
vanity lights - 1 each for a total of 2.

Thanks man. I just ordered the weather tech mats. $249 total....... very pricey indeed. That does not even include the cargo liner as the truck has one already.

The thread I found yesterday after you initially posted on this thread was the exact same one you just mentioned and I had already posted on that thread! :)

The pic you posted looks amazing! Is that same light on a 2005? I also noticed you had a projector headlight. Is that OEM or you upgraded ? I don't think the 2005 I bought has projector headlights. I haven't picked it up yet. Picking it up tonight or tomorrow morning.

Welcome from another canuck!

I can't help you out with the bulbs, but I'd definately go weathertech or husky liners for your floor mats. Way better than anything else.

Also, tint must vary by province. In Alberta we're not allowed ANY tint on the front side windows. I'm still tempted sometimes to get some lighter tint but mostly I feel it's not worth the hassle. I used to have tint on other vehicles and it was a niusance getting pulled over for it.

Anyways, nice ride, welcome aboard.

WOW! $249 does seem a bit high, even for the digital fit liners. I guess it's different since you are in canada rather than the US.....there must be some sort of currency exchange rate difference. :jaw drop:

haha. Glad you ordered 'em, you'll be very happy with them!!!

Ya living in Canada sure has it's costs. Everything costs more up here, and they always get you at the border. I found a good deal on some parts once somewhere in the states (forget what they were) but it was going to be $80 for the parts (nothing big either, would've fit in a shoe box), and they wanted $200 for shipping as it had to clear customs etc. It sucks.... especially since we've been at par +/- for years now with the American dollar.

Weathertech liner

I have a set of Weathertech liners. They fit like a glove. Perfect fit. Almost impossible for dirt to get under the liner. Highly recommended.

I've searched but have not had much luck regarding the following questions:

1. I've looked in the cargo area but can't find the second 12V outlet. Exactly where is it?

2. Is it possible to reset the average fuel consumption display? It reads 10.7 liters/100 KM. I'm assuming thats the average fuel consumption over the life of the truck?

3. At what speed can I shift from 2WD to 4WD? Is it 45 mph?

4. Do the power window buttons light up when you turn on the lights? In my truck they're all off even with the lights on.
