SC is in
First of all, sorry we didn't hook up, [MENTION=61518]tmaxx13[/MENTION]. That was my bad. Work has been brutal lately, and today showed up before I knew what happened.
My mechanic buddy showed up this morning while I was still on conference calls, so he just started tearing things apart by himself. ...I did pull the skid plate before he arrived (if you have a bud built, you'll understand...mechanics hate it -- rocks can't break it).
Anyway, this is what it looked like when I came out to say, "hi."
An hour later, the phone call was over, and the supercharger was in, all except for some hoses that needed to be replaced. So, I headed over to the parts store, picked up some fresh hose, and got 'em installed. The hoses were the toughest part of the install, since it's not totally obvious how everything gets hooked back up, and the routing is not at all like the manual indicated (at least in my truck). Throttle cable and tranmission kick down are either super-tight fits, or you just gotta route them in a way that will work -- we did the latter.
Overall, it seemed like a pretty easy install (although my friend ended up doing 90% of the work.)
We skipped the 7th injector for this go-around, since I wanted to get some throttle time with just the stock SC. HOLY $#!+ what a difference a SC makes. Worth every penny. Test drove, logged data, no issues at all so far. The truck sounds gnarly, and pulls much harder. Was able to do 70MPH with power to spare up a hill that previously limited me to 55mph max. So far, very happy.
7th injector in a couple weeks. Going to be wheeling around Anza Borrego and Ocotillo Wells after Thanksgiving. Probably won't install 7th injector and 2.2 pulley until a week or two after that trip (but before the big grand canyon trip in December).
Sorry didn't do a great installation write-up. I guess I'm not that guy...especially when my friend basically did all the work...
