Just picked up 2012 LE - mod questions

I Just picked up a 2012 LE 4Runner, and am curious if anyone has installed one of the Viper SmartStart remote start's in their rig, which uses an iPhone app for the remote start?

I was also wondering if there is a solution to play DVD's while in motion?

I've searched a bit and haven't found anything 5th gen related on these topics.

As far as the DVD question .....OEM JBL doesn't play DVD's at all , only read the Nav DVD.
Aftermarket ,like Pioneer,Kenwood ect. will and very easy to overide to play in motion as my Pioneers does.

I just had a Python SmartStart (same system as the Viper) system installed with a Fortin EVO-ALL override unit and a Python ResponderOne RemoteStart system. Feel free to shoot me any questions.

The usual question is does it shut off the engine when you get in the car... Using the EVO-ALL, it does not if the installer configured its override option, but once remote started, you must unlock the doors using either the app or the ResponderOne keyfob. Once you have opened the car, press the start button twice, then you're good to go. Note if you don't have the OEM keyfob with you and IN the car, the car will still shut off as a security feature.

other than that all OEM functionality remains intact, if you don't remote start the car, you still get to use the full smart key functionality.

O, and I am using the Directed SmartStart app. The Viper SmartStart IOS app is identical, just a different logo.
