I agree, Larry77.
This forum is supposed to be about our 4Runners.
If anyone wants to rant about their ignorant political opinions, there are plenty of wingnut blogs they can go to, and enjoy the fellowship of like-minded morons.

I am amazed at the lack of pics of this filter. So on my 2006 V6 is this the carbon filter "the white filter that is closest to the intake" after you remove the air filter cover?
there are pix.
I cannot believe that anyone would spend more than 30 seconds thinking about removing that stupid thing. :twak:
People are spending hundreds of dollars in Cold Air Intakes and Catbacks to increase the airflow to and from the motor, but removing this stupid sack-of-instant-coffee-looking POS raises eyebrows?!?! Cmon!
Maybe we should all run stock tires too and not lift our trucks either.
Gees crack a beer and get over yourself... pull that thing and never look back.

Anyone needing some visual evidence of the contributions to pollution from the automobile, need not but to visit LA/Orange County on a calm day, face east, and tell me if you can see the mountains. Or, take a trip to Europe and look at the multi-billion dollar investment going on to restore all of the historical structures. Nearly all of the old churches and historic landmarks are covered in a layer of black film. I was there in the fall of 2007, and was stunned to learn that this black layer of film was caused by one thing, and one thing only...pollution from the cars. I've attached two photos as evidence. This damage was done mostly during the 70's and early to mid-80's, before governments started putting the hammer down on emission standards. Take a look for yourself.. You can see the difference between what it should look like "light beige", and what it looks like now "black".
My 4runner has more than enough power as-is to keep me happy. I think I'll leave my filter in.
