Toytec Lifts - Spring Has Sprung

Recently went on a nice little day trip through a trail called Hackett Gulch. Probably the most challenging trail I've been to here. The pictures on TrailDamage don't do any justice to the slab obstacles. They are very washed out now. The trail ends at a nice river bed through a stunning gorge. A large part of the challenge for this trail is that it's an out and back trail. Meaning, leave the same way you came in. The downhill sections at the slabs were quite, for lack of better words, butt hole puckering. The new suspension worked out really well, and rides the trails smooth. I do however need some new front lower control arm bushings and apparently a new rack and pinion lol.

Thanks! Yea, I realized about half way in that it wasn't there lol. I took it off to diagnose some issues a few weeks prior to this trip and just haven't taken the time to put it back on yet.

Thanks! Yea, I realized about half way in that it wasn't there lol. I took it off to diagnose some issues a few weeks prior to this trip and just haven't taken the time to put it back on yet.

You will always have time once you cause major damage. I have total 6 bolts on my skid, takes about 5 minutes with some air.

I did same thing as you with my Bronco when I was young and dumb. I scraped my transfer case and caused the seal to fail, all the fluid came out and destroyed my transfer case. Big mistake!!

I love the gulches. Do them few times every year. I love the slab obstacles. Still not as rough as some other trails. You have not explored enough!!

With the help of a friend I finally got my valve covers done. With nearly 200k on the ODO she looks great! Wasn't too hard of a job, hardest part is keeping up with everything.

Here's to another 200k!

I also added the AirAid MIT to clean up the engine bay a little bit. Was having issues I think with my 2" body lift as it wasn't lining up correctly. Kept tearing the coupler at the trottle body end. I had to go out and get a different silicone coupler from a parts store for it to work correctly. There's a little more give in the parts store one vs the one included in the kit. I think it will work out better.

October will make 4 years.. Aside from being dirty, they still look brand new. I need to give them a good bath, but I don't want to take them all off lol.

Same here. Mine have been on for around 4 years too and I'm way to lazy to pull them off. Your making it to the jambo this year right?

They don't even look warn, which is nice. I know I've seen some people have issues with the piping wearing off on the driver seat, from getting in and out.

Unfortunately I can't make it. My truck isn't happy right now and even though it's not that far a trip, I don't like how it's been acting and don't trust it enough to take it on a road trip. Sucks, but is what it is.

Very nice ride! I tried to talk my wife into getting a 5th Gen 4Runner, but she was adamant about getting a Jeep JK Unlimited. I pissed her off the other day when her check engine light came on again for the third time in the three months she owned it (it's brand new 2016 had 19 miles on it) and I blurted out, "you know, if you had gotten the 4Runner instead, you would only be taking it to the dealership to get the oil changed, not for engine issues. :lmao:

She wasn't amused. :uzi:

My wife didn't want anything other than black.. Unfortunately, I can't talk her into going with some dark bronze wheels. She want's it completely blacked out lol.

It was funny, this past week she was trying to tell me she wanted the taillights blacked out and the fr/rr black bumper valances but she didn't know what to call anything cus she doesn't know a whole whole lot about modding vehicles. So, she kept trying to explain what she wanted. I knew right away what she wanted but I let her keep trying to explain it to me cus I thought it was adorable :laugh:
