K@N cabin filter

Huh... Didn't realize they made a cabin air filter.

What exactly are they using on the filter? Some sort of oil film like their Intakes? Because I'm not sure I'd want to breathe that in compared to a dry filter... But it's not like it's going to mess anything up (like say a MAF) since it's such low pressure air flow.

Let us know how it works out, a reusable Cabin Air Filter is an interesting idea...

I did not realize they made them either. I was just looking for an oem filter on amazon and saw this.

I asked about a year ago and was told they were developing them, but I didn't know they had hit the market. I'll be trying one this fall. I just replaced mine with a Fram this morning while I was waiting for my AFE filter to dry.

I used to purchase the charcoal impregnated cabin air filters for all my Toyotas but can't find them any more.

I heard the K&N cabin filter nets an additional .375 hp....

I put the filter in today. It fits and works just like the original. What else can I say. When it gets dirty I will clean it and put it back in for the life of the 4runner.

There were a lot of reviews on Amazon that discussed odor from the oiled filter. Any feedback on odor after your install? A/C on/off transitioning?

I only went about 3 miles to go to a store and probably will not use the 4runner for several days but will give feedback when I drive it more. I did not notice any odors in my short drive

I use the cheap ass FRAM air freshener filters, they smell like laundry:D

Also, why the holy **** do dealers remove your cabin filter and show you how dirty it is and ask if you want it changed for a 20 dollar labor charge and 22 bucks for an OEM cabin filter?

That just gets leaves into the fan...
