K&N oil flter? anyone running these or have any feedback?

I was recently turned onto these K&N oil filters.

HP-1002 - K&N Oil Filters, Oil Filter direct from K&N

PS-1002 - K&N Performance Products, Oil Filter direct from K&N

I am contemplating running HP-1002 with my next oil change and also in my wife's 2003 Accord Coupe.

What do you all think or know about these filters?

They're good filters. I believe they are the same as STP and Mobil1 filters.

I have also heard they are the same filter as a Mobil 1. I have been using Bosch D3300 (distance plus) filters with Mobil 1 in my wife's 2001 4runner. I plan to do the same in my '97 that I recently bought.

Yeah, I have been digging around a little and it does appear that the K&N and Mobil 1 are the same. I will end running either one of those (whichever one is cheaper at the time) or possibly running OEM.

Personally, I have never had a problem with anything Bosch, but with all of the anecdotal evidence that most anything Bosch is junk, I will stray away from them.

I have to admitt though, I have been running Fram TGs in the 1997 4Runner for well over 150k miles with zero issues, but that will change. No more Fram oil filters for me.

I run the K&N oil and air filter in my and no problems with them at all .

I'd run a dry filter if I were you. All that oil f's up your MAF and Throttle Body.

The air filter is a dry filter I don't like messing around with having to keep it oiled up

If you want to run the larger K&N oil filter, try HP-2009. It is a tight fit but works.

Bosch owns Purolator, or vise versa, both are excellent filters.

My dad used Fram TG filters. No real problems to speak of.

I've run K&N oil filters on quite a few Motorcycles. No complaints.

Never heard that before. I visited Bob the oil guy forum, and that filter is highly rated. I pick em up in Wal-Mart along with Mobil 1 High Mileage. The "D" 3300 is supposed to be good when running synthetic for extended oil changes. I change at 6,000 miles, which is probably sooner than I need to.

Nothing wrong with NAPA Gold or WIX oil filters.

I'd consider spending more $$$$ on the synthetic motor oil and not the K&N oil filters.

ive herd some horror stories of the filter imploding and clogging, I like napa stuff personally since theres a full machineshop/store down the street from me!
