Kayak Rack

I did a search and it seems most people are running a J rack to haul their kayaks. I was hoping to get something so the kayak can lay flat. I have a set of Yakima Hullyrollers and Saddles that I want to put on, but am afraid with the spoiler in the rear that it might get damaged. Can the spoiler support the weight of a kayak as a pivot point? I have an Old Town Dirigo 12' kayak. Any other options that I could look into?

Well what we have going is the Thule Crossroad Railing Foot Pack and Thule square load bars. Simple and ingenious to install which attach on to your factory roof rails. Just using a pair of simple saddles and we lay two 14.5 Wilderness Tsunami's side by side and they clear the spoiler with no issue. If your patient you can usually find a good used pair on EBAY or your local Craigslist for 1/2 the price of new equip. Hope this helps. And I honestly don't think with the weight spread over the whole roof you will have an issue with the spoiler supporting a bit of the kayak's weight. Just put a little bit of foam padding on the top spoiler if your concerned about scratching the finish

I don't think the kayak will be touching the spoiler once its loaded. I meant when I am trying to load the kayak on the roof is the spoiler strong enough to be used as a pivot point loading the kayak. I would need to rest the front of the kayak on the spoiler so I can lift the rear and slide it in place. I don't think the kayak will be sliding across the spoiler while its being put in place. I should be able to lift it high enough to keep it off the spoiler.
