Keeping the Deer Away

Wow. Sorry to see this. Looks like your doing a good job of fixing it up though.

I sure am glad I had my custom steel bumper on when I hit a deer at about 45MPH. Very little damage to the truck. The deer on the other hand, died instantly. But he sure was tasty!

I'm looking to design a hybrid bumper for myself since I have the little 4banger.

Just finished everything up this morning.

Great job!

I was thinking about this thread last night. I was cruising home from work last night at about 65mph in the right lane & a medium sized deer jumped over the 3ft guard rail & stopped. Scared the crap out of me, if it ran out onto the highway I would have hit it dead on.

Unfortunately, deer are just a part of life living in Michigan. Having grown up there, I've seen many a vehicle roach a deer on backroads. I had one run into the side of my car about 10 years ago and damn near totaled it. Bastard still lived too...

You should see what the elk do to cars on I-75 north of Gaylord...
