kevinpt's 4runner

got my diehard 31m battery installed with the help of my dad today. 75lbs is hard to get in place. other then having to make a plate for the ground wire and cutting the base that it sits on it went in without any problems.

installed my wheelers offroad superbumps. installed them without taking off the tire, just jacked it up a few inches so i could work. ended up cutting an inch off the end of the Allen wrench and put it in a socket and that worked great. the allen wrench is too long to use with how close the lower a arm was.

overall feel after install is great. took them over some train tracks that would use up all the front travel without them and they handled great. with 5100's set at .85 and trd off road coils giving me just over 2 inches of lift they do touch the a arm but do not compress at all. thanks YotaDan for a great product

Nice, just installed the superbumps on mine this week when I was swapping out axles and adding Wheeler's 3/8'' top strut spacer on my 5100s.

How do you like your led ditch lights? I have some hella 500 classics with 100w bulbs in them on my ditch brackets and I'm not pleased with the hood glare that I get. Hows the glare and output from those auxbeams?

with the hella500ff and the auxbeam 4d spot pods on at the same time i can not tell the hellas are even on. the big key with the 4D fish eye spots vs other spot lights they only light up inside the beam pattern, there is no light outside of it. as far as the glare on the hood its not bad at all

Awesome, thanks man. I'll definitely be looking into those auxbeam's

picked up some boards to work on my storage box. cost so far $12.
took the Rock Warrior to get 8 foot boards and you could roll up the back window if you angle the boards right

3rd gen owner here. I was looking through the 4th gen threads as I'm considering getting rid of my 3rd gen for a 4th gen in the near future. I have also been thinking about the 1st gen sequoia as I actually like how they look with a few mods, and it would be great for my excursions with the size. So I saw on the last page there was a sequoia in front of your 4Runner, and I'm assuming it's yours.

So I wanted to ask you about the differences/similarities between the sequoia and 4Runner. How do they compare for handling? Which rides smoother/stiffer? How do they compare for road noise? Wind noise? Comfort? And really just what are your overall impressions in considering the two. I've never driven the sequoia. I'd love to hear your input!

im going to try and answer everything

1, you really feel the weight with the sequoia when compared to the 4runner when making turns. the brakes are not as good as my 4runner with the sport brakes
2, when i had stock xreas suspension it was about the same between the two as to how it feels on the road. im running 5100's now with trd off road front coils and fj rear coils so its not as smooth as xreas but it handles big bumps better.
3. i would say the road noise in both is not bad. the sequoia might be a bit better but i have a roof basket now so i have a lot of wind noise.
4.if you asking about how the seats feel i really dont have an opinion on that. space is great in the sequoia when you have a lot of people. 8 in the sequoia vs 5 in my 4runner.

all in all i would get the 4runner any day over the sequoia. the v6 in my 4runner is faster then the v8 in the sequoia. the 4runner can do u turns where the sequoia can not.

a lifted sequoia would be cool but it would also need a good exhaust to go with it to make the v8 sound good

Did you paint your OEM roof rack yet?
By the way. I really like what you did to the front end. its exactly what i want to do with mine. except I have a sport so I also need to change out my grille with a limited's one.:pop2:
