Kevstaarr's Build Thread

Hey OP, nice rig! I was wondering if you happen to have photos from the direct front and rear of your rig with the Rhino Rack installed? I'm curious to see much the rack overhangs off the sides.

Haven't had much time to go wheeling due to my work schedule, so it's always great when I'm able to go out.

Went with a couple of my buddies to Cleghorn (2N47 to the Silverwood Lake) and I must say, I think I grew some "huevos":bravo: It was actually me and my buddies first time, so it was definitely good to have someone there to lead us.

During halfway through the trail, a CEL popped up on my Ultra-Gauge and it was P2610. I cleared code with the Ultra-Gauge, continued wheeling, and eventually made it back home without it ever coming back.

*It was in the high 80's today & I had a full tank of gas*
(Not sure if this matters?)

Quick question, anyone know what this code is? Upon reading, it looks like it has something to do with ECM? Now that the code is cleared, should I take it to the dealer ASAP or wait until it comes back up again?

Reason I ask is because I'm sure that the dealer is going to say something along the lines of, "Oh, I don't see a CEL or any codes popping up, move along", what would be my best bet?

Anyways, on to the photos:

Oh, did I mention, I picked up sliders? Just finished them painting them earlier this week. Just need to install them now:

Installed passenger side Demello Slider:party: I'll be running with one slider for the mean time until I figure out how to install the driver side slider w/KDSS

Due to getting surgery a couple months ago and switching jobs, I haven't really been out wheeling much, but that'll change soon. I did get some new parts though like an awning, ladder, amber grill light, light bar, and ditch lights.

Here's quick recap of what has been happening over the last couple of months:

super clean, hope your job is going well---and hope your health is even better.

Great looking truck! Any other pictures of the demello sliders? They are local and I can save on shipping over other brands. How far do they stick out and could they be used as steps? My girlfriend is short

I don't have any other pictures at the moment, but I'm sure there are other members that do. But yeah, they can definitely be used as steps. My aunts are all short, and they have no problem at all :lmao: Since you are local, I'm pretty sure you could stop by their shop and check them out in person.

Was planning on having a tech day today and installing my light bar & ditch lights, but remembered my buddy (IG:@sponsoredsoredbywifey) was holding a wheeling session for over at Cleghorn, so I decided to check it out. Kind of bummed out that I forgot my camera though, so sorry for the lack of photos :crybaby: Anyways, never have I seen so many 4runner's in one spot besides a dealership  Since there were over 30+ rigs, it was split up into 2 group, beginners & advanced group. However, I split off into another group with my buddy, Angelo, mrfobbyaccent because we didn't want to get caught in traffic with all the rigs up there at once.

Besides a little damage to my rear bumper/valence & new pinstripes, it was a nice day to go wheeling & meet new people.

Damn, I saw all you guys at the start of Cleghorn this morning as the group of 8 that I was with headed to Calico. Didn't realize there were 30 though!

Hopefully we will run into each other sometime now that I live here.

Had a quick run with a couple of buddies over at Rowher and left with minimal damage :bravo: Don't remember exact trails we took, but they stuck to the fire roads and I took the "shortcut" straight down the mountain. At first it was a little intimidating because of how steep it was, but there was no point of return, so I just had to commit. Had some butt puckering moments towards the end of the trail where I suffered some exhaust damage, but no big deal. Overall, it was a good day to go wheeling.
Here's a couple of photos I took:

As of today, I dropped the truck off over at Miyaki Motorsports in El Monte, so they could install my new lift. I've mentioned it before, but I highly recommend the shop, Ryan & Jay are great people! I went with Dobinsons 3/2 lift along with JBA UCA's. Thank Mike & David for the help! Truck feels much better now! Definitely can't wait to hit the dirt soon! I'll get some proper photos once everything settles in.

Most recent trip was out to Big Bear with a couple buddies:

How'd the VehiCROSS do? I had one for 3 months, never had a chance to take it off-road but they seem to do reasonably well on limited difficulty trails. Mine was a bit of a pile of crap, but still love how they look...but selling it eventually put me in my 4th gen so I don't miss it one bit.

Surprisingly, kept up with the 4runner, FJ, Tacomas, and Jeep! It was able to handle a lot of the harder trails up in Big Bear.
