Key fob?

It seems that a lot of people with 3rd gens have a key fob, but when my parents bought the runner used in 2002, it didn't come with a one. My question is, should my 1999 sr5 have a fob? And if so, how would I program a new one?

Mine was $37.99 on eBay... Seems like everyone and there mother bids on these things... I have put my max at 25 on about a hundred of them, haven't got a deal yet.

Yeah man, I didn't have one for almost a year... Now I don't know how I did without it.

Wondering if the 96 sr5 can use one also. Mine didn't have one either. And I just broke the nice key too. Lol

FYI - I have a 99 Sr5 and the HYQ1512Y does not work with my 4runner. It works on my neighbors 00 Limited but not the SR5. Not sure why but just thought that I would share.
