Alright so I bought this 96 4runner and all seems well with it. It is a SR5 model and has 150,000 miles. has a great dealer service record and thats what made me pick this one. My question is how can I find out if it was equipped with a remote entry system from the factory. Only received one key when I bought it and it was'nt even an original. Thanks, Ed

look where your key goes in, there is a black circle around it. If it says "Toyota Security" then you know you have the security system, and keyless.

Check under the driver's seat. If there is a little black box then you have an alarm. Take a flash light and see if there is a little green button on the side of the box. If it does then it is an RS3000 system.

check for the kill switch on the driver side kick panel, on the tan/grey plastic up towards the top of that panel. On mine, my black box it located directly above that switch with a sensitivity knob.
