Keyless Entry Help on a '94

I just picked up a '94 4Runner and it didn't come with any remotes. I'm fairly certain it had keyless entry at one point because there is a red alarm light on the dash to the left of the steering wheel, and a small switch on the bottom of the dash next to the fuel release door (I don't know what it does, but someone told me it was a 'valet switch'?). It also has like 3 different Toyo-Guard (or something like that) and Toyota anti-theft stickers on the front windows.

I was looking into ordering a remote online, and it says I should have the alarm box under the drivers seat carpet. There is nothing there. Is it possible that it could be up under the dash if it was installed aftermarket or by the dealer? There's a black box near the fuse panel that seems out of place. Does anyone have any pictures of what exactly I'm looking for or can offer any other help so that I can figure this out? Not having keyless is a major pain to me. I'm too spoiled from my old truck.

I have the same setup you do. I haven't seen if there's "valet" switch though. I also have a alarm horn mounted in the engine bay. I'm going to subscribe to this thread to see what others say since I'm missing the key fob also.

Got to a Toyota Dealer to get one.

The Toyota dealer wants about $70 for the remote and another $50 to program it. I can get a generic one online for $20. I just need to find the box and see where the button is on it that I need to press in order to program it myself. Shouldn't take more than a minute or so, I'm just not sure what the box looks like or where it is.

The alarm box? It is usually mounted behind the interior plastic that is at the driver's knee's.

I'll have to take a look under there. I found a black box that looked a little out of place, but I couldn't see a button on there that I would push to program the remote. I was hoping someone could post a picture of the button I'm supposed to press.

Looking online the remote sites say the box should be under the drivers seat carpet, but there's nothing there on mine. I think I have a factory alarm that was probably dealer installed, so they just put it up under the dash rather than cut the carpet and mount it there. As soon as I find the button I have to push I'll order one of the $20 generic remots online. From what I understand I just push the button on the alarm box and push the button on the remote and it's programed. There's no way I'm paying the dealer close to $150 to do that.
