Keypad

Yes, I just installed a keypad entry, got off EBAY for 35 bucks, wireless no drilling, works as advertised. Great for surfing or running, leave keys in car and go. I also got a HitchSafe just in case the battery dies someday, but the HitchSafe is not as good for daily use, better for emergencies. The hard part was finding the lock and unlock wires. I ran 12V fuse tap from fuse panel (used test light to find constand 12v lower left area, then got fuse tap at Pepboys for 10 bucks, plugs right into empty fuse spot) then grounds, then I felt the wiring was too cramped under Driver's kick to really do splices and couldnt really find lock wires, so I took the Driver door panel off and and wired it at the upper top left Driver's door to the blue and green wires where the wires go into the locks (you can test it by just grounding the wire), used a speaker wire and ran through the door jam gasket. I had just installed a bluetooth USB IPOD stereo with speakers, amp and small sub under the seats so I knew how to get the door off easily. I put the brain in the left wire panel hidden away. Looks stock. I also installed rear parking ultrasonic sensors (Steelmate) and everything looks factory. I notice there is one more hot 12v space available so I may hardwire my Garmin or use it for a AC power inverter, I just dont have any room for the inverter because I have a sub under driver seat and amp under passenger seat. I like to keep rear clear for cargo.

Do you still have the link handy for the keypad? I have been wanting to fo this for a while but never found a good option. Could you also post a picture of where you mounted yours. I would love to have this feature on this car becuase as it stands now i always carry 2 sets of keys. I carry my spae in one pocket and the real set in the other. A pain that i could definatly do without.

Also how secure is that hitch safe? Like you said that woud be a great option when you need to leave the keys somewhere.

I carry my spae in one pocket and the real set in the other..

I can't tell the difference between my spare one and the one i always use.
My spare key and fob is locked at home. I haven't yet locked my keys in my 4R yet since i only open/lock the doors with the fob. Anywayz, the keyless keypad sounds nice but that's an extra combo to memorize. What if you forget the combo, would there be another combo written down somewhere?

That looks great. Nice mounting location and the black paint really works great with it. How many numbers activate the unit. What i mean are the codes 5 digits and can you use other features by typing different codes. Say i just wanted to unlock one door vs all of them.
