Keys

It's funny that I've never noticed this before, but since my keyless entry remote stopped working a few days ago, I've discovered some things about my key. The key I use in the ignition only works in the passenger door. It does not unlock the driver side door or trunk. Until the new remote comes in the mail, I have to unlock my doors through the passenger door every time I get into it. Is this that way for everyone? My truck is a 1997 limited.

nope it shouldn't be that way.... either your lock is broken, or it was replaced w/ one from another vehicle at some point. You can contact a locksmith and have it re-keyed to work w/ your key.

I would try a spare key or have a new key made before having locks changed. It may be that your key is too worn to operate those particular locks. The lock on my glove box had the same issue and the spare key ended up being able to unlock it.
