i am really thinking this would be a great mod. I really miss the fosgate system in my Xterra (which had a factory sub under the driver seat!).

do you guys notice the stock stereo booms a bit too much? I have to turn down the bass some times, especailly when use my iphone through the USB port.

Yep. This setup solves that. The Kicker sub, like most aftermarket amps has a bass boost knob in addition to the gain. So what I did was set the stock bass a little less than half, then cranked the bass boost on the kicker.

Any way you can get a little clip so i can try to hear how it sounds...i have been looking onkline and in the shopes and cant find one I can hear...

With this setup you don't have a remote wire - it runs it's remote and audio input off high level - so you tap the the speaker wires for the rear door.

I can try, but I think it'll be difficult to tell how loud it is - I imagine it'll just wash out the mic - but I'll try.

Still debating if I want to go get the same kicker sub and follow the write up or just install a 4-5ch amp under the seat. Just wondering if the party mode button interferes with the subwoofer amp output when party mode is active since it's tapped in the back speakers?

How is the subwoofer holding up after a year of use? Is it still enough bass for you? Did it sound better after it got broken in? Any other tips before I make the decision? I'm thinking of putting it under the passenger side though as I would think it that the butt vibrations would get in to me in the long run. Are you still enjoying the free butt massage?, I'm guessing it's pretty toned up by now.
