King and KYB Shocks

I just ordered some Bilstien Shocks at the recommendations of the guys at Alcan who are currently making my springs. But, to my dissapointment, Bilstiens are on a Nation Wide Back Order from the plant in Germany until Nov. 31st.

I asked the guys at Alcan if they recommend anything else to go with their springs and they mentioned customers have used Kings and KYBs, but they didn't have any personal experience with them.

Can anyone vouch for Kings or KYBs? Or, since it is gonna be at least 3-4 weeks before my springs come in I should just wait another 3-4 weeks to get the Bilstiens?

I had Kings on my FJ Cruiser and they were OK, they were eventually replaced with Bilsteins and I was much happier. I have KYBs on the 4Runner now...and a set of Bilstein 5100s sitting in a box waiting to go on. See where this is going?

I had Tokicos on my Mustang...it now wears Bilsteins as well.

There are a few top notch dampers out there, Bilsteins are one of them IMO. I'd wait until they are available again. Or call around and see if anyone has them instock. I got mine from AJUSA.com just a month or so ago.

I do see where you are going... I had Bilstiens on my Xterra and loved them, so I think my mind was made up... I just needed to hear it from someone else for confirmation.

Yeah, I called around (AJUSA, Shock Warehouse, etc.) and they are all out of stock and on back order...

I dont have them on my 4runner, but i have kyb's on my mustang and mr2 and am very happy with them. Was going to put them on my 4runner eventually.
