King shocks update!

On mine at zero compression I was level with the rear which is 2.5-3 inches of lift. I put one additional inch on mine. Do you want a little rake or level? My springs get here Wednesday but I can tell you that having very closely looked at lots of lifts, as well as my own 4runner with a jack under the rear on level ground, I prefer a little bit of rake.

Also, don't put any faith in their adjustment estimates. I think I put mine on and off 6 times to get the height I wanted, and the to fine tune the pass. side to match the drivers side. Also set your height with a half tank of gas.

This shows how much preload he is running and icon rear springs. He is level it seems, but pictures can be deceiving. Also that looks new so it hasn't settled at all..

Thank you so much for your help! This gives me a great reference point.
I'm gonna get with him on how many turns he went .

Dude not a problem! I wish I had known the details when I put the coilovers on, it took me an entire weekend. I initially had about 5 or 6 inches of lift when I put them on... That's how far off I was. My icon springs are going to come in Wednesday, I'll put them on that weekend. If you want I can measure how many threads are showing on each side and give you a picture or two to see the stance. The only thing that sucks is I didn't buy 285s, I bought 265s 5000 miles before the lift. I wasn't going to lift it ever... But god the sr5 ride sucks.

Some pics would be great!
Dude I'm in the same boat, I also went 265's thinking I wasn't lifting any time soon but got an awesome bonus through my work and just fast forwarded the process. I went 400 mi's with my new wheels and tires lol

Thanks again I am looking forward to your pics!

Man, the envy, they sure look sharp, how do they feel?

Pretty epic to say the least!

Getting my Icon ucas and rear springs installed tomorrow so it should improve even more. Also cranking my coilovers a bit.

Just glad I opted for the comp. adjusters, due to the fine tuning I've been doing.

These will not work with Trail Editions with KDSS. Those models (at least my '14) don't have threaded inserts for these to mount under the frame.

Bummer :(

Is it not possible to drill and tap? Or is there stuff in the way?

The holes are there but no welded nut inside the frame. I just had reservoir brackets welded to the frame. I guess you could buy these and have them welded on.

MEMO,
Why did you choose Kings? Instead icon or fox or whatever...
Just curious, for my own education.

Cheers

I was looking for the plushest set up considering it hauls my wife and 3 kids. Plus my wife drives it 99% of the time. I also got the best deal on kings. I do have Icons on my 05 Tacoma so I'm very familiar with digressive valving compared to King's progressive valving. Overall I'm satisfied in 2 different ways!

Can you adjust the height of the Kings while they are installed on the truck?

Nope! I know effin sucks!
Definitely one thing I wish I can change about the kings. My guy was able to adjust them during the installation of my uca's due to them not being in the way and not have to completely remove them.

I maybe would do fox's if I had to do it again. Plush ride qualities and adjustability on the truck! And they also offer a compression adjusters.

Wow that does suck especially on a top brand like the Kings. Once you clock in the height you basically don't need to adjust the height anymore.

But for me adjustment on the fly is important. Think that would be a deal breaker for me.

Other than the on the fly adjustment I hear good things about the Kings. Enjoy!

What you've heard is true!
No regrets.
