Klasse all in one

I have a black 03 4runner. Seems that there are so many products, methods, and other recommendations for the polish/wax procedures and products.

I am trying to keep it a simple and easy as possible (if that is possible from reading some of the posts on the various products and methods), and it looks like the Klasse all in one product contains many of the products used separately as others (polish, protector, etc).

Can this product be used by itself, or should the Klasse sealant glaze also be used over it? Even if the SG is used, it seems like the two products are much less work than some of the others.

Any comments on these two (or just the all in one) products for polishing and protecting the finish on a black 4runner.. Any what types of application wipes, etc should be used for each.

Also, is waxing necessary after using the sealant glaze??

I clay bar, AIO, and SG.

You don't need the SG, but is adds protection and shine.

I use microfiber applicators for the AIO and SG. I'll run the applicators under cold water, ring them out, and let them set a few minutes so they are damp, not wet.


You can appy a wax over AIO or SG for extra depth. I did once, could not tell a difference. But on a silver car. AIO and a good wax on a black truck may be great. Lots of people like S100 or P21S wax.

Waxing is not necessary. If I apply 2 coats of SG, it will bead water for a year.

You may want to consider Menzerna's Final Polish II and FMJ. I will try them when my Klasse is used up.

For optimum durability use the SG. AIO's durability by itself is debatable. AIO is a great product, really good at cleaning the paint. For a really nice look top AIO with a quality carnuba wax.

AIO and SG

I use the AIO followed by the SG, and I found the SG rather difficult to remove. I could not get it to completely buff out. I ended up using the AIO again to get it out. Has anyone had this problem? What am I doing wrong? The applicator is damp, car is in the shade, microfiber for removal. Thanks for the help.

Just used the Klasse AIO and SG today on my black 4runner, the results were awesome. Going to put on another coat of SG tomorrow.

I did not have any problems with buffing the SG off. I used a damp terry cloth pad to apply it and a microfiber towel to buff it out, and seemed to work fine. Kept it very thin, could not really tell it was on, some streaking at times, but I think that was me putting too much on.

I was surprised how easy both the AIO and SG were to put on and take off. I thought the SG was much easier to buff out than the AIO. I was always used to the other waxes that gave you a workout buffing it out.

Warthog, I also used the sonus acrylic glanz on my buffing towel, and seemed to work great when buffing out the SG. Not sure how it buffs out w/o using this. You might consider the sonus glanz on your buffing towel.

I pretty much followed the instructions that came with the Klasse kit. One thing I like about the Klasse twins is that I can now use the Sonus Glanz and Spritz to keep that shine and protection going after washes and between Klasse applications.

Can't wait for the next coat of SG - looks great now however. I am sold on the Klasse twins, and the Sonus products made specifically for the twins.

Sometimes I have trouble buffing out the SG. I think it happens when I use too much SG. The Glanz or Spritz will get it out. Any QD wipe will. Eagle 1 wipe n' shine also works.

The Glanz is great to use after a wash.

Most people use too much Klass. THIN, THIN, THIN coats. Use less than you think will cover, it works. Do a search on autotopia.

I use both Klasse products, to remove them, I spray a fine mist of water when it is dry. It is easier to remove when you wet it!

New Truck

Is this something I should do for my first wash? Or do I wait some period of time before doing the steps? I don't want to screw up the new truck.

I'm not one for keeping up on detailing so I little extra effort now, probably is a good thing. Is there a product that might help in the long run from the brush on the trail. Maybe an extra layer or two of wax?

Longevity is good, I hate washing the truck so many other things to do.

Wash it with Dawn dish liquid first, then clay it, then Klass twins, then carnuba! Time consuming, but worth it!

I didn't use clay maybe in a couple months, and with a recommendation of brand. I couldn't figure out what kind of clay and didn't want to end up with something to abrasive.
So if one of you has the brand and "model" that would be great.

After going to AutoBac in Stanton and finding nearly everything on the shelf was labeled in what I think I was Vietnamese or Chinese, I left disappointed. This was after I called and was assured there would be someone there to help. Needless to say no one there was interested in helping some old lady who didn't drive a suped up Scion. I don't think there was a person there over the age of 22. (I'm not even 40 but felt about 80 in that store)

I ended up at a detailing supply store in Costa Mesa, Detailing Depot on Newport Blvd. Marco was a really great help and older than me!!!

He may not have some of what you die hards like but he was a help to a newbie.

And the truck looks great. Just in time for it's first trail ride next weekend.

I want to thank those in this forum for sharing the knowledge.
