Knock sensor/ wiring harness

1) I just put a reman engine in my 91 4r and it was kicking out a code 52 for the knock sensor. I replaced that and I am still getting the same code. I was told by the shop who installed my engine that there was a wire cut on the harness and that they repaired it but that might be causing the code 52 to be kicked out. Has anyone ever heard of this?
2) The truck has 317k on it and even with a new engine it seems i have a real power issue. I have been told the injectors need to be replaced but I listened to them all and they are all opening and sound the same. Maybe the O2 sensor, fuel pump or filter. I also noted that the timing for a factory engine is 10 btdc, which is where I thnk mine is at, but others have been saying set it to 12. Suggestions?

Thanks ahead of time.

3.0 sorry. Everything I read says the same about the sensor being a weak spot but after replacing the harness and the sensor the code should clear but it has not. very frustrating

I just went through this with my newest rig and ended up with this solution:
1. locate an OEM knock sensor
2. relocated mine to rear engine lift hook
3. new OEM pigtail wiring
4. reset the ECU

It then threw the codes for O2 sensor, replaced that and now its back to as peppy as a 3.0 can be. Best of luck.

Do you have instructions on how to do this?
