KO2 impression

I'm just starting my research into new tires (first time replacing tires on the 4runner since purchase). Looks like I'll be getting KO2's.

If I move to the 165/75 size, will there be any issue with rubbing? I'm at stock height (2002 Limited).

For those of you that moved over from 165/70 to 165/75, did you also replace the spare?

Sorry if this has been covered, but I came across this thread looking for reviews of the KO2s (all positive) not really thinking I was going to change sizes.

I am pretty sure you mean 265/70/16s to 265/75/16s. I have a 2002 SR5, so no flares, I had no rubbing and I am currently stock with 5 star wheels.

265/70/17 KO2's Load range C

I've had mine for not quite a month now and love them so far. No noise or ride harshness complaints here. They made the 4Runner look way better.

Nice! Do you know if Costco would order a particular size or do have to choose what they have in stock?

they can order anything you want
oddly the tire the "books" call for they have to order, at two of my local costcos. 265/70
but both stocked the 265/75

Awesome, thanks for the info. Did you get KO2's for the spare or a cheapo tire? I'm thinking a cheapo will do since its job will pretty much just be to get me home, but likely any changing of tires will happen mid-trail, so...?

HIGHLY recommend BFG Rugged Terrains. I got them for a fraction of the price of ko2's but they look great.

I got another KO2 for my spare. If you need new tires now are you could buy for and then wait for them to go on sale to pick up your spare if you want it all the same I suppose. Or you could just get anything to throw in there to get you down the road.

I am running BFG KO2s 265/75/16 10 ply and have about 2k miles on them with a few 300 mile plus freeway trips and I really like them a lot. Very little noise, great cornering, definitely feel the road more with 10 plies but I like that. I feel good having that protection when going off road. Good traction in rocks, sand, dirt and gravel. Haven't tried mud or snow yet...

Not to sound like a hippie, but MAN does the universe provide! I was JUST thinking about my next rubber set (leaning towards the ko2s) and then I come across this thread! Thanks for such in-depth reviews everyone! I'm officially going with KO2s now!

Just completed a LONG trip this weekend (~1200 miles) on the new K02's in 265/70-17 load range C. Got better than 23 mpg! Yes, really. Cruise control set at 67 mph for most of the trip, some holiday traffic and dirt roads mixed in there.

I had a set of Cooper AT3's, then BFG KM2's, then in Feb of this year, I got a set of the new KO2's. The KO2's are the best tire I've ever used bar none.
