Do a bit more research on the WHOLE topic, I'm not standing up for him but it is definitely worth looking at if you are that passionate about it:
I think stopping the Lords Resistance Army is a good cause within reason. If the US could take him out with a drone or special forces then fine but it just isn't possible. What everyone on this thread seems to agree on is that facebook causes often enlist idiots who have no idea about Geo-Politics.
Haiti was and still is a disaster. NGOs have been working there for 10+ years and the people are still poorer than ever before, even before the earthquake hit.
Money and pledges are not enough to make a difference.
I would rather we give increased funding to fighting HIV or Malaria in Africa, the Gates Foundation has been very successful $ for $ compared to typical NGOs on these two crisis.

It is a scam.
It helps the children very little.
The only people that it benefits are the directors of "Invisible Children inc" which have become very wealthy.
Huge scam.

I just don't know enough to see where to even look to stand on the topic, i think the real problem is, is how many people blindly follow one viral video's message.
It's nice to see someone admit this. I've spent the last 5 years developing strategies to help Uganda, spend 6-8 months out of a year there, and am doing everything I can to help rebuild the education infrastructure in Uganda and South Sudan.
And all of a sudden, there are millions of experts on foreign aid, stopping warlords, and Uganda around the world because they watched a 30 minute video on a 20 year long, largely outdated conflict. It's amazing how they painted northern Uganda to be a war zone. It isn't. Actually I've never met a national in Northern Uganda that knew of Invisible Children.
This campaign picked a healing scab. It gave attention to an egocentric murderer who now has the attention he wants. I leave for Uganda next Monday. If he decides his newly found fame is a great stage for ramping up his activities, God help the thousands of innocent people that lay in his path.
Wonder how everyone who is promoting this will feel when they learn they contributed to more deaths?
yo, jham ! what do you think is the best way forward here?
i want your experiences and thoughts on the matter, no matter!
