Kraze's Mall Crawler build thread

For my build thread's 200th post, I bring you a bunch of wheeling pictures! ...of some FJs, and a Jeep or two.

Here's the rest of the pictures: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjX3xzvK

I was leading the run, that's why there's no good pictures of mine. But I can say that the Aussie was definitely worth it, and putting the ADD on a switch was also an excellent idea.

This my first car and my parents bought it from a mechanic who tinted as far as he could go. So my dad had one of his buddies scrape the tint off but i dont know if their is tint still on and if so how much is. Also my windshield wipers went out and we think it is the motor. Do you think it would be better to go to a salvage yard and try to find one or go to a toyota parts dealer. And I know it sounds like my 4runner is falling apart but it isnt this is just the only problems.

You'd be better off starting a new thread. You'd get a lot better response since the thread would be about your specific problems. But I'm sure once you get these little problems taken care of, your new 4runner will treat you well!

Shane, if you aren't going to use those old links, I'll take them and give a shot at fabricating some stronger ones.

That's an excellent idea..

Well, I have 4 spares now. I carry two with me, that leaves two. One for each of you? Although for you, Connor, it's going to cost you $200, but I'll throw in a gas tank skid for free :thumb:

How to wide is it? Surely Toyota didn't use two different mount widths in the same generation of vehicle.

Definitely was wide enough so that no amount of forcing it in would work. But I have a panhard bar drop, so I'm thinking maybe the metal surfaces on the bushing for my panhard bar were already worn out some when they made it, and that's why it's smaller? Who knows.

It looks like all had a good time. The FJs really have their following. I never could accept one though to own as a DD.

The absence of Connor, a big spider, and no video with an owl does seem to make the trip lacking though.

I'm in Hawaii. Otherwise I would have been there to take videos of the ever elusive owl.

Shane $150 and I throw in a bottle of
Lube for your upper control arms.

Yeah, he's in Hawaii (although I'm not sure why, there can't be any good wheeling there ). But the lack of spiders is a good thing!

$160 and you keep the lube (I already have tons of it haha). And! I will give you first dibs on a deal that will be coming up for a bunch of free stuff that you could easily sell and make some money on.

My rental car is a Hyundai Sonata. The approach angle is less then fantastic.

Does the lube work? I bought a ton of it. Hahaha

$160 will work if you throw in links.

Depends on which stuff you got. I have the Triflow in the little drip bottle, the spray stuff, then some good grease for the poly bushings. It all works pretty well actually.

And deal.

I got 3 bottles of Tri-Flow.

You know you have to make it up the water tower line before you leave

Yep, that's the good stuff. I usually spray the uniballs down with the aerosol Triflow first (you can use WD-40 though), then wipe off all the dirt and crap with a paper towel, and then I'll use my finger to apply the Triflow in the little bottle.

And I hadn't thought about that. If it still looks like it did the last time we were up there, then I might be able to make it. We'll have to check it out.

Supposedly WD-40 hurts the uniballs causing them to pit.

When I get back in town we'll go check it out. Maybe bring a shovel and a pick axe

I flushed and filled the coolant, drained and filled the power steering fluid, changed the front diff fluid out and used Redline Heavy ShockProof gear oil, and switched out the front two skid plate bolts (front two plates, not front two bolts) to grade 10.9 after bending some of the 8.8 ones that were in there. Did anybody else catch the FJC, TR4, :gun6:

Son of a... I didn't even notice that. It was an FJ guy that made the video so I guess that would explain it. I do have three T4R stickers on my 4runner though, he could have just looked at those haha.

I called around to the junkyards today and lined up a black door and a black mirror that I'm going to pick up on Saturday. It's just the shell so I'll have to swap everything over from my door, and then put the mirror on since they're bringing the mirror down from another location. Hopefully everything goes smoothly with that and the colors match up decently haha. I plan to just hammer out the fender, and maybe rattle can it and call it good. We'll see what happens with that.

And in the meantime, there's a good chance it will rain tomorrow so I have to go tape up the door so no water gets in. Figures it would rain right after this happens
