Sorry, definitely longer than the weekend. I was able to get everything fixed so now she's fully functional again.
Headlights needed to be fixed but it ended up being a loose connection and new bulbs but it gave signs of other things being wrong so the troubleshooting took longer than I like.
The CS144 is purring nicely under the hood and I am very happy with it. Now this summer I can add the York compressor on for OBA and find a good location for the tank somewhere.
The fenders and mudflaps work tremendously well. I was a little worried about clearance but the semi mudflaps are very stiff and hand pretty much vertically. When everything was attached the amount of mounts I was able to use actually made the flap itself pretty convex in the front which increased the clearance while turning. I'd say I ended up with 1.5 inches of clearance off the tire and it should be safe. They're also long enough that at full stuff the tire is not rubbing on the lower edge of the mudflap so the possibility of folding the mudflap under and ripping it out is slim IMO.
Lots of new things coming soon. I was secretly thinking about turning the ol girl in but a solid replacement Tacoma with low miles was simply too much to consider right now. With that being said here's the budgeted updates under review that would put the 4runner back into a comfortable DD that sees some trail action now and then. Why DD? I face off with too many deer to do a sedan of some sort and a new truck doesn't provide enough benefit financially to outweigh the maintenance costs of the list below.
-Suspension Bushings (probably OEM or Strongflex) for the rear and front.
-All Pro UCA
-Pink Top injectors
-Stereo - Atota Android HU, Component set up front, fill for the rear door, and a 12" sub stuffed into the rear tool compartment all powered by a single digital 5 channel amp.
-Door Seals - those are getting close to toast
-Windshield Replacement - one more rock chip and I think I'll lose it.
-99 Console mod
-Gas Tank relocation and body lift
-York 210 install (dual pulley off CS144 so some things will be moved around under the hood)
-High clearance rear bumper to protect the fuel tank
-Sliders maybe
-Rear faceplate replacement with fiberglass reinforcement (tire carrier required modification of it)
Projector headlight retrofit (hopefully a dual projector)
-Rear Disc upgrade with a parking brake
Already done
Rear liftgate struts replaced
Rear striker assembly replaced (door and body)
LED light upgrade (except headlights)
Monstaliner touch up
Alternator upgraded
Headlight wiring and bulbs replaced
Pacer fenders installed
Mudflaps installed
73 days till graduation......Looking at grad school in the fall or maybe something else. Lots of things changing quickly around here.
All of the parts! Amazon and Rock Auto are definitely the best way to get Yota parts around here.
Bad pic of the engine bay but it's tidy and clean
CS144 installed. So it's not that great of a pic but the York should fit right in beside the power steering pump if I rotate the battery and shift some of the electrical stuff around. It's going to get kind of cramped in there but I decided it would still fit with a supercharger stuffed in (eventually, not in the near future)
Just a picture of my arch enemy. I actually missed the shot. There were 8 of them. Worst neighbors ever.
Better pic with the fenders and mudflaps. I actually need to adjust some of the mudflaps so they match but for now they function very well and the fenders I thought came out very well too. There's much less snow and water on the side of the truck and they don't create a void in between the body and the fender for moisture to sit either.
Pure glory shot but it was pretty weather for tooling around in the 4runner.
