Installed a pair of yellow Lamin-X Protective Film Covers on my fog lights. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

You order specifically for your vehicle by make, model, year. For my 2016 they came round. Fit well and no need to remove any trim.

General theory is yellow/amber light gives less reflection off of fog/snow and thus a little better visibility.

Agreed. I just put LED H11 bulbs in my factory fog light housings a few minutes ago. The lighting on the stock 4Runner sucks compared to my Lexus. Next up will be LED high/DRL bulbs and some type of conventional bulb for the low beams.

Are you running Lamin-x and the LED's?

Please let us know how the LED's work out in your fogs and which brand/model you are using, after you have had some real world use to share.

I am doing my home work on both the Lamin-x and the fog light bulb upgrade now.

I also have LaminX, I found that the light output is decreased significantly. The stock bulbs really need upgrade if you do go with LaminX.

As for myself, thinking of upgrading to LED assembly from TRS or Diodes Dynamics.

No Lamin-x. Yesterday evening I went to a Christmas party and we didn't get 10 feet out of the garage before my wife said hey what is up with your headlights.....the road and ditch are bright.

I didn't get flashed one time from on-coming traffic and the road just in front of the 4runner and the ditches were lit up like never before. I'd buy them again for the price!

Since I have larger hands getting them in was a tight fit. The key is to unplug the connector before trying to unscrew them. The wiring doesn't allow it to turn all of the way to get the light bulbs out. Once I figured that out it was a 10 min job for both sides.

No, to my understanding you only need the CANBUS for the high beam/drl since the draw of the DRL is lower. The fogs are a simple swap.

According to this the resistor is only needed for Euro CANBUS systems.

That's a great deal. Stupid question time...

A few different bulb manufacturers state their replacement bulb fits H11 and H16. I'm guessing these will work for an H16 fog light as well?

I think the h11 have a higher voltage output but they will interchange.... not a stupid question [emoji1303]

Popped them in today.

I did the covers but they started to peel around the edges. I used some heat as well. Not as yellow as I thought it would be.

I just put in some Baja design squadron pro in amber and they are much better.
