Has anyone used this product to tint/blackout lights, i want to use it but i dont want to create any safety issues/performance issues.

I could also only use it around the edge of the light....?

yes sir... I have the gunsmoke tint on my parking lights and marker lights. I've had it on for over 2 years i'd say. It still looks good as new, plenty of light output, I would not recommend putting it on your headlights, and good luck with getting it on the tail lights. The stuff is awesome! i love it, search around though there are a couple of guys that have used it.

i have nightshade, same thing. on my lower blnkers, corners, and rear tails. it still gives off light, i did 3 coats and 2 clear. but still dont paint the headlights

When i do this i think i am going to put this on all lights and if i find it is unsafe i will remove it ($50 to cover all of it). It is very easy to remove i am told.

I am also pretty sure that when I do this I am also going to upgrade my headlights to projector beam HID, that added brightness may allow me to keep it on, but ill see.

Don't put anything on your headlights, you'll get ticketed for it, and if you drive at night away from the streetlights you are making your vehicle less safe than it could be. My $.02.

If you do a projector setup, then black out the inside of the housing while it's apart. Should give the look you're going for, but won't affect performance, or be illegal.

I've got yellow lamin-x on the foglights on my wife's Legacy, it's stood up well, good product.

But im gonna X2 on what Ian said. Your gonna have a hell of a time getting that stuff on the headlights with those nipples on the outer glass. It may work, that stuff is very interesting to work with. but yeah If your doing the retrofit, for sure paint the inside. I wish I would have done that originally. cause it just looks sick on a black runner

but just type in "projector retrofit" in the google search bar up on top of this page and you will find a ton. SQ.MD blacked out his and gave it some sweet Ironman flare but yeah there are lots a threads. It's a time consuming project but well worth it in the end

haha well, you gotta separate the glass from the housing and install the projectors, and once you get that done paint away. The whole process CAN be time consuming a stressful. but yeah, get some good paint and spray away!
