They finally showed up after being delayed a few days from the 23 inches of snow we got this weekend. The fed ex truck didn't have 4wd! haha.

Anyways I have to get em painted and then I have some new tires just waiting to be mounted up. I'm going with Hankook RF10-AT in 235/85-16. Yeah I know skinny pizza cutters but I always love to go by the wide tire crew when they're slipping and sliding on the snow and ice.

I'll be selling the factory 98 limited wheels when I get them off next week if anybodys interested.

Sorry can't help you on that. I was pretty lucky finding these. A gentleman from colorado had the full set of four with center caps for sale. I got them for 275 shipped to my house. They are in great shape too. Now the big dilemma should I go black or should I paint them gunmetal.

I'm so indecisive on wheels anyway, it's probably for the best. If you're looking for opinions I think gunmetal is the way to go, especially for the color of your rig(which is one of my favorites btw) black would probably clash with your fender flares unless you got it to match exactly. Of course, they look fine the way they are too. See what I mean about indecisive?

I hear you on indecisive. They need to be painted for sure. I think maybe black is the way to go because I have front and rear bumpers on the list along with a lift. So the bumper will be black and I'm removing the running boards also.

Well quick update on the wheels. I got them painted today. Sorry about the photo only had the phone with. I will post better ones on Monday. I went with a charcoal metallic and a clear over it. I matches almost perfectly with the bottom color of my runner. Now I can't wait to get the tires mounted up. They're backordered for two weeks. Oh well atleast the paint will have time to set up good.

yeah, I never understood why people think that skinny tires are less slippery... its simple to me, most tires only connect with the road in 4 small areas as big as the palm of your hand...

if you have more connect points to the road and bigger connect points, you have more surface area for friction which keeps you from sliding...

simple math... greater surface area means more friction...

Nice catch, Black it would match ur truck color. I just got 4 nice set of 17'' sequoia for $100 w/center caps. Lady bought new sequoia rims because her old ones were stripping because of the salt. Man don't underestimate the work trying to get them stripped before you paint. Got mine stripped but too cold here 2 start anything and i don't have a garage.

Actually, that is competely wrong. But a very common misconception.

Fr = μN

where:

•μ is the coefficient of friction for the two surfaces (Greek letter "mu")
•N is the normal or perpendicular force pushing the two objects together
•μN is μ times N
Fr and N are measured in units of force, which are pounds or newtons. μ is a number between 0 (zero) and ∞ (infinity).

Applies to static and kinetic
This equation applies to both static and kinetic sliding friction. Static friction is the friction before an object starts to slide. Kinetic friction is the friction when the object is actually moving or sliding.

Static friction and kinetic friction have different coefficient of friction values.

Independent of area for sliding hard surfaces
An interesting result of this equation is that in the case of sliding friction of hard surfaces, the friction is independent of the area of the surfaces. In other words, it is just as difficult to move a 1 square-cm object as a 1 square-meter object, if they both are pressed to the surface with the same amount of force.

This is not intuitive. You would think that there is more friction when the surfaces are larger, but the friction equation states otherwise.

Back on topic: Nice wheels! Those will look slick. But they'd look better with bigger tires.

Actual simple math: Greater surface area = greater contact distribution = less grab force per square inch = more chance of slippage.
