Land Rover Roof Rack

Does anyone know anything about this roof rack? I was told that it came off of a Range Rover and that it was a factory rack made for Land Rover by Thule.

I have a guy at my office offering to sell me it for $250 and it looks like a REALLY good rack. It's 4x7 and pretty solid.

Take some measurements on your 4r then check that rack , think it'll be close , the issue will be how it mounts to 4r ? As in where the attach points are .

It works but its definitely big. Any idea where there are mounts for a rack like this? Any home brew mounts? I was going to take off the factory rack and mount it directly to the roof.

Your best bet would probably be to buy a mounting kit from ARB which is sold separately from the ARB rack. It's basically two lengthwise vertical metal plates that mount to the holes of the factory rack that you mount the roof rack to. That would probably be the easiest way to make it work. Install the ARB mounting kit and you should be able to mount that rack with some U bolts possibly. If that's off an LR make sure it is the same height all around when doing your measurements, it will be obvious if it isn't. The roof on the LR is two different levels. The LR roof racks were designed to mount to the gutter rails. The factory safari rack on my Disco Series II was about 4 inches higher in the back than the rear.

Not the best fit but I think it still looks good. Don't ask how its tied up now but I definitely need something more permanent.

I was looking at the wilderness rack for the FJ and thought those might be good mounts as well as the arb. Just depends on price......

Also it does not appear to be Thule like the guy said. It looks like they just used a thule fairing.
