Landcruiser wheels, Deal or not?

I found a set of LC Rims locally for $200, I passed on them because they need refinishing. I've been thinking all day I should go back and get them. So is $200 a decent deal, how hard is it to find these things?

Also what would be the value of my stock split spoke wheels?

200?!?!?!? Good deal if they just need refinishing. You could sell them here if you didn't want to do the work, at least for that price. I would pay that and smile while I sanded, painted and cleared them to my little heart's content.

They are an OEM quality forged alloy, one of the toughest wheels you can find anywhere. Easily worth $200, some elbow grease, and paint IMO.

Might be cheaper than sand paper and paint stripper.

That's a steal. And I just sold my split spokes for $200 last week. They did have my old tired on them though.

Ok now I feel dumb, the guy told me they've been for sale for a year, I actually tried to get them for $150, and walked when he said no. I'll go back tomorrow, hopefully the price hasnt changed (that's happened to me before).

what shape were the tires in? I'd like to get $150 for my wheels theyre pretty clean. Is that out of line?

I don't think sandblasting aluminum would be a good idea. It won't leave a smooth surface.

X2, I've done it before, it leaves a pebbled finish. You'd have to soda blast aluminum I believe.

3 of them were pretty good, Michelin X Radial LT's. The 4th was an odd ball Goodyear that was kind of choppy. Honestly, I just didn't feel like taking them to have the tires removed from the rims, basically gave the tires away with the wheels.

$150-$200 isn't out of line I don't think.

$200 is bout the average price for those. The ones I bought were in rough shape, and I spent $200.

I paid $325 for five LC wheels then sold the tires that came on the wheels for $275, so my wheels only cost $50.

I just bought a set that are pretty rough that I plan on refinishing for $250. I also got lugs and center caps so I was super happy. Jump on those!

Got em, lesson of the day, don't try to haggle with a junkyard. These guys were hard asses, and I'm no slouch either. I ended up paying $250 no center caps they knew when I walked back in there they had me.
Oh well here's a pic, I'm going to paint them metallic black.

You'll get over it. Good score though. I would of paid $250 for them also, and I am a cheapa$$. Now all that means is you have to raise the cost of your wheels to $250.

The epitome of passing the buck. Prime example.

Anyways I just sold my split spokes for $100 and they were in better condition (garage kept, AZ etc..) then any I've seen. I priced them to sell tho cuz I just wanted to get rid of them. Asked 150 on craigs and got like 6 or 7 calls but the first guy was really nice and waited for me to get my new rims on so I said he could have them for 100. Probably just depends on how patient you are. Could have prob got 200 but I'm in AZ so maybe diff.

Well story goes I saw them on car-part.com for $300 I walked in there to see what was up, the manager wasnt in, but the guy showed them to me anyways and offered them to me for $200, I passed. I walked back in today, the manager was there, badass dude the kind you dont mess with, he says $300, I said the other guy offered em to me for $200, he said that guys a dumbass, $250 cash or GTFO. So I pulled out the money.

I already got 2 stripped and etch primed, I'll try to get the other 2 tomorrow. I might go with a single stage paint, but I do have a bunch of clear laying around all I'd have to get is the base coat.
